I am so hyped. Sucks that Rio and Brazil itself aren't prepared at all for the Olympics.

Before we go any further, no, the wrestling events do not count as retention of the Law of SMF. That being said, I'm very glad that for the first time in my adult life the Olympics will actually be on at a reasonable time and not on 12 hour tape delay (I'm looking at you, Beijing... and Sochi...)

Giggles 12 hours? NBC gave this country a 21 tape delay of the major events! That's why I totally didn't watch the Sochi Olympics on NBC. LOL

NBC ruins everything. Luckily, I have my CBC to give me good Olympics coverage

Also, hype.

It's weird that they're using a soccer stadium as the venue of the Opening and Closing ceremonies. I'm used to the ceremonies being held in the athletics venue lol

It's a big stadium, and a very famous one. I wasn't surprised when they chose the Maracanã for the ceremonies.

Any news yet regarding any past SASUKE competitors/Olympians who are attempting to compete in Rio?
I know Jovtchev has retired since appearing at the London games, but beyond that I don't really know anything.

The only news I'm hearing is the possible move of location due to the chaos going on over there. Beside that I haven't heard anything about athletes going.

However the problem is that the Olympic Stadium is now the home of soccer team West Ham United. Hopefully they are able to use it just incase...
