My opinion: this is the laziest 9th obstacle they've ever created. I feel like it's just an I-Beam Cross with gaps. Maybe a slight cliffhanger element in the transitions. But with the 8th obstacle being the bungee road from KC las year (albeit modified), I can see at least 4 finishers in this region. That would be crazy. The middle three regions having 4 finishers each and the first and last having 1 between them. Legit 0 people might actually fail this obstacle.

I'm confused as to what the problem with this one is - it's simple, but that's not bad. I like simple obstacles better a lot of the time. Take the Pipe Slider, Cycle Road and Balance Bridge for example.

It's a pretty boring idea for an obstacle and it kinda shows how stale some of the obstacle ideas are at this point.

It's just another cliffhanger spinoff like the Vertical Limit or I-Beam Cross (although that's closer to a Heartbreaker spinoff), it's a fine obstacle idea so I don't see why everyone is complaining, obstacles don't need to be overdone and confusing to be good, hell after s*** like Wall Drop (I realize this obstacle actually came BEFORE that though) I'm happy to see a nice simple straightforward obstacle

I'm sure it's tough to come up with ideas though (probably why they opened the Obstacle Design Challenge)

It's going a very different direction than most of the 9th city finals obstacles this year. While most were generally just about pumping the forearms out for the Invisible Ladder, this one also brings fingertip strength into the equation. Competitors able to do this are more likely to be able to beat obstacles like the Cliffhanger and Hang Climb, so it gives a pretty good insight into what would happen to finals finishers on Stage 3. If they start to add more obstacles like the Circuit Board and Clacker into City Finals, they might start making Stage 3 similarly, focusing more on strength endurance than finger strength, and they might even get rid of obstacles like the cliffhanger. City finals courses are for finding out who has the best shot at achieving total victory.

Yes and no. It's very different than the circuit boss in Indy, and quite a bit shorter.

Just hope Campbell gets featured in this finals and does well seeing how he had to get into several walk ins for qualifiers this year.

I have never been so astonished and aggravated with an American ninja warrior episode before. The insane levels of disrespect shown to David Campbell was ridiculous. "David Campbell's about to get beaten by a 54 year old man." And how they didn't own up to their mistakes by not selecting him and forcing him to sit in the walk on line felt really dishonest. And the absolute stupidity with putting Karsten Williams and Tremanye Dortch up against each other was the worst part of this entire thing. Matt literally said that Tremanye should hope that he slips up on an early obstacle. That completely ruins the entire point of ANW. You're not supposed to root against your friends. This episode absolutely sucked, and I honestly can't think of an episode I've hated more than this garbage.

David's fail pretty much would be something SHINGO would do except not so simple. Feel sorry for him...
