I want to start a thread on rafter pull-ups which require a good amount of pinch grip strength. Has anyone tried them?
these are my first attempts on two rafters without warmup. I'll be going to my apartment building basement more often now!

I've tried a few attempts without chalk and then a few with a bit of chalk but didn't feel that it made a difference. I don't remember if I'm using chalk in the vid attempts. I will do more soon and post a vid. Looking at the vid my reps are not full range of motion as I'm not starting from deadhang position but I think I might be able to do a full rep if I'm properly warmed up. I'm excited to work more on this and see if I can do it with added weights eventually. I've done the vertical limit too but I feel that's different, I feel it more in the finger tips vs pinch grip/thumb. Goo luck with your training bro, let me know how it goes!

attempts from today after proper warm up.
tips: 1. warm up well your pinch grip, I have a 2" block that you can hang weights from it and that's how I warmup 2. press the rafters hard together before the attempt 3. press the thumbs hard 4. tense your whole body really well 5. go for it!

Are you talking about both hands on one rafter?

yes, "the real rafter pullup" that's pure pinch grip strength vs the two rafter one where you use your pecs a lot
