Yep
This gives me hope for the future. Sasuke is worldwide and TBS may learn how to capitalize.

I hope so. NBC doesn't normally hand out a bunch of invites at once. Good luck Reko!

Any other Americans going? I don't think so since this may be the only 1 time TBS has invited Americans with the exception of Kane Kosugi in Sasuke 30. Reno has gotten the GOLDEN Opportunity of a frigging lifetime that maybe either of us wouldn't probably get. I'm not sure if Drew is invited but then again, he was the ASEAN Cup Winner that Sasuke acknowledges why he was invited in Sasuke 30 & 31. So hopefully He'll come back with Reko.

I asked around and so far I haven't heard of more Americans going to Auditions. As for direct invites TBS won't publish though openly.. we kinda figure out later who ends up going. This is out of Inui's jurisdiction so he won't know either.

Weird situation. I know exactly NBC's stance on this, and they do not know what he is doing. He just applied and is going for it.
Hopefully he can slide under the radar! He was invited as would another other Japanese competitor, not as a foreign. NBC will allow 1 or 2 to compete at sasuke this year, but they must be invited and picked by TBS and given the OK by NBC.

It's a shame that NBC isn't more open to people competing on other shows. It would be one thing entirely if competitors were contracted/compensated in some way (for instance, John Cena is under contract by WWE and is an employee there so he can't just show up at a TNA show), and I know that there's an NDA competitors have to sign but to my knowledge it's only for other reality shows (so Geoff couldn't compete on Survivor, for instance). I don't see what competing on SASUKE would possibly do other than drive up international interest in ANW. I truly fear that NBC will sniff out gym competitions like the National Ninja League and try to block people who competed in that.

Better to ask for forgiveness than permission? Maybe? I mean, he's running a prevalent risk of being added to the Isaac Caldiero Memorial Blacklist(TM) by even showing up to auditions. Geoff might be able to get away with it since he's going to be a big part of ANW's marketing this year (and losing both champions would be disastrous for ANW's credibility) but I can't imagine the same leniency would be granted to Reko.

Maybe they actually only want the T-Rex for Sasuke. Either way, I hope he gets his chance and there are no repercussions with him trying. Dude has been going all over the place to train and do competitions.

To my knowledge he lied about his address (ala Liao a couple years ago). We are about to find out if that loophole is going to work or not.. I personally have no issues with Reko and last year he was fun to hang out with at Sasuke (he was part of Drew's support squad). All of this will happen this Saturday.

To my knowledge he lied about his address (ala Liao a couple years ago). WHOA there. Isn't that ILLEGAL??? Hasn't stopped people from doing it in the past. Only 1 person has ever gone through in their history and that was Liao from Taiwan. We are about to see if it will happen again. To my knowledge they don't know yet until he shows up... or.. they know and are going to let him try. Remember.. TBS isn't adverse to Americans.. it's the complication with NBC that screws everything up. Maybe they feel Reko is not big enough for NBC to care? Dunno. I didn't dare ask either of them on the subject. Going to leave this alone and just watch how it all unfolds.

They can let him try and if he makes it through but can't make it to the taping so long as it they know in advance it's won't be a big loss for them. If he gets through and is a last minute no-show TBS will probably not love that.

If he gets through and is a last minute no-show TBS will probably not love that. True. I think the bigger issues is the NBC problem. If he faked his name as well this is going to be a huge political problem. The loophole was supposedly closed after the stunt Liao pulled a couple years back. We'll find out if they truly did know if it was him or not on Saturday. My biggest fear are the political ramifications of this whole thing. This has the potential of closing the foreign loophole entirely. I doubt he knows that which is why I'm not touching it with a 10 foot pole.

Auditions selection for Tokyo are complete. All invites for the auditions are now complete. Any other invites will be either determined after Tokyo Auditions or direct (wildcard) invites.

Reko just wears the T-Rex suit the whole taping. Problem solved.
