IT'S LEGIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Email from Official ANW Casting: "Hey Matthew, We are currently in the process of deciding what college we will be going to. The next step is to apply via our casting website. You'll have to go in as a normal competitor. Give me a call and I can farther explain the process and what we are looking for. Look forward to hearing from you." LINK PROOF: gyazo.com/6ca75166fa15c1915854a8c32e712638Additionally, the casting director did call me back, but he did not leave a message nor did I previously take the time to call him back after everyone, myself included, began believing this was a scam.. I will call him back very soon! I will also be calling Lindsay as well. SO PSYCHED.

Just got off the phone with Lindsay, here is what she told me:
The college edition is still in the works and is not set in stone as of yet, but she said it has a good chance of happening.
It will take place on the same course(s) in cities whose names still have yet to have been released to the public for the normal season of American Ninja Warrior 8.
If your college is close to one of the cities and has a familiar rival school, it has a good chance of being on this "special episode(s) of ANW". She said the theme may be rival college vs. rival college. I attend Boston College, so I asked her about the rivalry between Boston College and Boston University and their chances. She said I would have a good idea of their possibility of being selected if one of the cities released was close to them. She made it pretty obvious that Florida State University and its rival school would probably be selected for this, though.
Other than that she told me if my school wasn't selected, I could be a tester for the regular season. Also she said I and anybody else would have to apply online like the normal season competitors.
So overall this is still a potential idea in the works, and you have to hope your college is chosen.
This is good enough information for me so I won't be calling the dude casting director back.

Thanks so much for doing due diligence and finding out that this is indeed legit even if it's still in the organizational stage. Thanks Grandpa Ninja for finding it as well. This is great news for 18-20 year old college ninja wannabees! ♥

Every normal regional will probably have a few colleges go there to have their own competition either before or after the normal one. For example, I could see Venice having a bunch of UC schools going to compete against each other. Perhaps Alabama, Old Miss, FSU, and some others in the southeast regional, etc. My fingers crossed Boston College gets chosen for the Northeast.

Honestly I am surprised this is legit purely because of the sketchy looking promo picture. The development of this could also explain why the cities/dates for ANW8 are still not announced. Also I wonder if this specifically only for 18-20 years olds because I am 22 but I go to TCU which is a pretty big school that could potentially be a part of this.

Welp, that's an unexpected twist, hope they didn't pay too much for that promo image that we all thought was fake and used a version of the logo not seen for 5 years lol

Now that the season 8 cities have been revealed, I'm really excited to think about the possible rival matchups:
Georgia vs. Georgia Tech @ Atlanta USC vs. UCLA @ LA Purdue vs. Indiana @ Indianapolis Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State @ OKC
Not sure about college rivalries in Philadelphia... the only rivalry I can think of related to Philly is Army vs. Navy.

Philly is probably University of Penn vs. Temple or even Drexel. Unless they are doing Pennsylvania as a whole and Temple vs. Penn State has been a thing for decades!

Heard this was cancelled. Lmao, I feel bad for the kids on the forum and the rollercoaster ride they faced with this :/ It's real, it's fake, it's real again and then it's cancelled :/

Heard this was cancelled. Really? That sucks if true. Is there a source online we can post? The information is permeating so I want to make sure when I correct that on reddit I have a source or email or Facebook post or something to point to. My guess is that they couldn't get the colleges they wanted with such short notice.

This was posted in Comrades Just a note Comrades is a closed group but it's a pretty legit ones and has multiple members of ANW staff members who go there so if something was said to be BS a producer would jump in to correct the information

'Tis true. Was informed earlier. They tried their hardest to have things line up correctly for this year, but it was too short notice in the end along with some other minor things. They should have it all planned out for next year though, so I'm still grateful for that. Will probably be about the same plans as I explained earlier, hopefully with as many colleges as possible.
