I just saw that with Sasuke 32's semi-official confirmation, it was added to the main board, and Sasuke 31 was put under previous tournaments.
With that said, Sasuke 31 is still recent and if Sasuke 32 follows the suit of the last few, it could be 9 or more months away. Sasuke 31 is also still relatively active as a board and could be more prominently featured.
What is everyone's opinion on having BOTH Sasuke 31 and 32?
Alternatively, Sasuke 31 could be on the main index, as well as a new board called 'Future Competitions', which could house a Sasuke 32, and potentially other events (eg. Sasuke World Cup, once officially confirmed), until they are closer to the actual taping. This would also allow more general questions about Sasuke's future to be asked in the main 'Future Competitions" board.
I am all for Sasuke 32, but it feels a little early to start gearing towards it yet, since Sasuke 31 was only 3 months ago.
Opinions?
My personal preference would be to have 31 and 32, but I though I'd propose an alternative as well.

We've had a system in place that has been tweaked over the 7 years we've been around. The rule is when the tournament is either announced or openly greenlit officially, the board opens. As it is now, the ONLY thing that is being discussed is speculation and obstacle debate for 32. People stopped constructively discussing Sasuke 31 a week after it aired. The rest frankly has been spam and wild speculation on things that aren't even on the tournament. So no, I don't think another version of talking about nonsense is required. If you want to constructively talk about 31, the board is already there. If you want to speculate or report on 32. The new board is open. Any other suggestions that you guys have been coming up with belong in spam or general Sasuke.

That makes sense and is totally fair, I was more expressing my feelings because this year we're going off of Inui bringing it up rather than the actual press announcement. If I recall correctly, most seasons up to and included 29 & 30 were only announced 3-4 months prior. Then 31 was 6 months, and now we're looking at 6-9+. Because the announcements have been earlier these seasons, it just seems like we're moving on a little too soon. I'm not bothered at all if it stays as is. I was just expressing my opinion, as is the purpose of the comments & suggestions board.

Understood and you are correct that it's the whole purpose of the forum. ♥
Because the tournaments are now yearly instead of bi-yearly people are getting antsy. We have been dealing with this set up for about 4 years now and sadly is the new norm. The first couple of years we at least knew it was coming and the board was actually made pretty early. The general rule is when TBS officially says it is when the boards open. Most of the discussions in the current season board though usually die down pretty fast and it becomes zomg next tournament anyway. It is evidenced by how much is already in the 32 boards already... Heck, in the past the next tournament was announced at the end of the tournament that aired as the last shot of the broadcast so there's precedent for that too. LOL
The other issues that's indirectly related is that there's a LOT of new people on SMF and most have issues with abiding by the rules already set which frankly aren't that complex so instituting something different simply because people are doing wild speculation on something that doesn't even belong on any of the official threads doesn't seem constructive. No amount of organizing forums is going to fix that. That's just a personality issue with the current crop of teenagers we inherited this current cycle. Trust me, we've dealt with various iterations of this in the past which is why I spoke about it so soon. Scary to think that the ones from the past are now the 21+ year olds.. shudder.. I'm getting old.. LOL This generation though seems to be the most spammy though which is of big concern to me.

That is true, larger distance between competitions, I suppose as a side effect, leads to larger distances between announcements. In retrospect looking back at what is in the Sasuke 31 board, I suppose it is mostly towards Sasuke 32. I guess in my mind what I was considering as Post-31 discussion/spec" is *really* pre-32 discssion/spec. Thanks for talking through that, everything makes sense and is in line now. P.S. ADMINS: The flavour text for 'Previous Competitions' says Sasuke 1-30. Change it to say '1-31?" =P

There has been a bunch of stuff going on in life lately, so hopefully things will settle soon. ...Before I continue typing...I really wanted to apologize to everyone on SMF for all the chaos I caused on my old account in 2012. I was acting...I don't really know...at that time, and I should have learned more about how things ran and not taking the front stage. ...I guess that is about all for now, but I will do my best to not make the same mistakes again. Any way, I didn't want to seem too quiet again... Hoping everyone has a awesome day ^^. SolitudeSeeker.
