Wasn't the story that there was a problem but Nagano said he would go anyways and was fine with the fact it messed up?

It's obvious to me that Takeda is probably the most shocking failure of stage 1.....im on same page as arsenette on Sato...i'll talk about the chicks Inada: so close on the log grip Komiya: god why couldn't she clear the jumping spider..darn course out Luci: Just disappointing the way she failed the jumping spider.... Except for the muscle musical chick that got to halfpipe attack...Komiya wins<333333333333333

Why do I have the feeling he wanted them to fail, and watched more intently when they did?

Wait...what happened to Shingo? My alarm was set to 5:15 PM instead of AM. I've made the same mistake on School days, but I made sure not this time Sorry people, it's okay to talk about Yuuji, he simply was the highlight competitor of this tournament. It's just that I didn't want a complete popular vote and discussion going out to him. I have to say I thought he had it totally once he was done with the ladder, I didn't think he used up much of his energy on it yet he couldn't climb that rope. I would've liked it if he had practiced rope climbing a little more. Although his form was like Akiyama, (IMO the most affective method of doing that) using leg holds to boost himself. I think it's just all the adrenaline and screaming that slows you down on a challenge like that, not just your muscles.

Takeda, no question. His failure on the Jumping Spider, even though he's beaten it in the last 4 tournaments, was truly shocking.
2nd I'd say Shingo. Honestly, Nagano's didn't surprise me because of the commercial break and because of David pic before hand, but still upsetting that he failed the First Stage.

Let's take a deep breath, relax, and turn off the caps lock.

David was simply not ready. You could read it all over his face: "Wait, wait, wait, wait, don't start yet, aaargh". He was also not fully warmed up before starting, and he was uncomfortable with the tramponline.
That's three things that each individually cost him enough time to make Stage 2, and all three of them are things he can fix should he get to participate in Sasuke 23.
Either way, his Slider Jump was the Most Shocking Non-Failure... EVER.

It was a roller coaster rider that's for sure. I thought he was gonna fail, so I'm all boo...
Then I see him catch onto the net so I'm all... YES!!!
Then I see his hand swing down and think it's gonn smack the water so I'm all... Booo!
Then I see it doesn't and he tangeled himself in the rop and saved himself and I'm all... WTFOMGYESSSSS!!
So yeah... all of that happend in like 2 seconds, was pretty awesome and made my heart go boom boom.

They showed that clip early on, and you just about see that he managed to hold on, so I knew that he was going to get to that obstacle and that he wasn't going to fall there before he even started. The only big suspense was his rush to finish, but he never realistically had enough time, even when he started the Slider Jump.

You really only have time to rest on one or two obstacles, but not rest, concentrate, AND breathe on several of them, like David. It kind of informed me that he was a slow guy to begin with, considering his behavior in his ANC 4 entry video.

The SASUKE failure awards! Dumbest Fail: Harashima(why the heck did he jump backwards?) Most Suprising Fail: Takeda Weirdest Fail: Shingo(I noticed some other people almost do what he did) Stickiest Fail: Minoru(no, bad octopus, no tentacles on Kuramochi's face and arm before his run!) Best double fail:

Two-way tie for shocking failure to me. -Yamamoto Shingo for doing the same thing in the same place. I don't care if it was a trip or carelessness or whatever. Dude needed a slap upside the head. -Kanno Hitoshi. It'd be one thing to just tap the foot, but he went up the damn side. Granted, he may have been DQ'd by then, but seeing it live, it didn't look that way.
Takeda and Nagano's falls sort of got desensitized thanks to everyone else, although I literally head-desked during one of them
Special mention goes to Komiya Rie for the most cringe-inducing fall.

I think he did it on purpose because he didn't have anything left to get up with. He wasn't even touching the Spider Flip by the time the announcer said 'course out' and Urushihara and Lee acknowledged it immediately.

Just watched Shingo's run for the first time...his explanation to the All-Stars was that he didn't notice at all that the little path/bridge was going diagonally off the little island, so it totally threw him off balance and he fell off. Wtf.

Maybe Shingo has Alzheimer's. He seems to forget how bloody stupid he is the previous time and does something even more moronic next time. At least he doesn't cry...
