I have my own guesses as to why the Gliding Ring was so damn easy...
I think they were purposely trying to let Nagano win to boost ratings. Seriously.
I mean, look. The first stage really wasn't supposed to have any new obstacles that would have been hard for the All-Stars... it just happened to get the best of them.
The Gliding Ring was so difficult last time, and the only able to get to it was Nagano, and I believe they made it SO easy as an apology to him.
And the the final stage? A newcomer loses by about what, 2 seconds? Nagano could have beaten that from what his track record is on the final stage. I mean, come on... half of it was a ladder. We all know Nagano could have beaten that.
Now my question is, if you do agree with me, do you think they did it for the ratings? If you disagree, do you think it was all just a fluke?

It is now basically confirmed that, from a variety of things, that is the way the Gliding Ring was originally meant to work and they just cocked it up in 21.
Also, I agree. If the ring had been like that in 21 then Nagano would have achieved kanzenseiha again.

The ring did not work right in 21 - it was the GRINDING ring not gliding ring - this time they fixed it and it got owned and im delighted, end of!

I predicted since Sasuke 18 that you don't need the notch, when you get there you swing and you won't go back, this proves it. But I guess they wanted it to live up to its name. I like the version Nagano did better.
Final Stage was just a joke, Theres 45 seconds, and he cleared the ladder in 15, had 30 seconds just for the rope, he failed by 2 seconds just because he's a bad rope climber. It was so easy I thought he was going to win. I know if someone makes it there, someone will win Sasuke 23

But didn't it seem WAY to easy? Every single final obstacle before has been a freakin force to be reckoned with... even though 21 was probably not properly made.
This one was a joke. It needs to change back to the strong obstacle it was in the past.

Like I said. I liked the Gliding Ring that Nagano faced better. I mean did someone have an oversized can of WD40? I blinked and I was like "WTF!? " to see him at the end.

Honestly, yeah. I preferred the Ring that you actually had to push.

Funny that we were complaining about the ring NOT gliding in the last tournament...

Funny that we were complaining about the ring NOT gliding in the last tournament... Well we didn't know this was the alternative!

They pooched it up in #21 and this is how it is supposed to work. I also agree that Nagano would likely have reached the final and probably achieved victory again but we'll never know..until Sasuke 23 when he gets his act together and defeats it again! (my dream)

Did the ring slide?....
Honestly I liked the Nagano one better. It just shows that it is the son of pipe slider. I mean, it HAS to be little harder than before, so yeah.

Yuuji just gave a little jump and that thing just flew to the end of the track. To think, if it was like this, Nagano would have won 21 because he gave a stronger jump than that.

Of course it slid and when you have that much speed you are able to get that much more momentum to swing over to the platform like that young lad did. TBS knew that had to change it or it would never be beaten.

Well, of course. But why the heck not change the obstacle and keep it hard, rather than just make it easier? I still believe it's because they were trying to apologize to Nagano.

Oh P.S. I'm surprised they changed the ladder in Stage 4 with the rope ladder.. so we have yet another obstacle that was changed and was never used...

Anyone else noticed they changed the Salmon Ladder's bar again? It was much longer and looked to be made of a lighter metal. Possibly the extra length was to compensate for the weight loss.

Yeah, In all the pics it was a steel one to the side and now it's a rope ladder down the middle.

Yeah, In all the pics it was a steel one to the side and now it's a rope ladder down the middle. Leon and I have been saying for a while that the steel ladder to the side isn't the Final Stage, but rather an access ladder used to assemble the first part of the Final Stage climb. Granted, Leon wasn't sold on any ladder idea, but the access ladder isn't even the right size and didn't have the same shape between rungs as the pictured Final Stage ladder. Two different ladders. One is part of the Final Stage, and the other is part of the Final Stage scaffolding used to help assemble the Final Stage.
