I'm in the process of making a Top 50 countdown of the greatest SASUKE competitors (each having to compete in at least 3 competitions to make the list). I thought I'd share this since we're being a little communicative about more SASUKE media taking over the tube. I wrote out the entire script for each competitor already and am in the process of gathering all the footage for every one of them. I've been slacking on it for a bit, but if you guys are interested in seeing the final cut, I'll be more than happy to get back to work on it. And if you all have any questions regarding it, I'll be able to answer that as well. I'M INTERESTED!!! Awesome! If I can get enough buzz about this video project from you guys at the forum, I'll definitely get back to work on it. It'll give me something to fulfill my time with too.

I have at least a top 10 but I could never make a video about it since all my videos get posted on Facebook and I don't want to upset the masses.

Hey I'm just hoping Shingo is at least top 25 too. I mean you gotta love his dedication to the show. You can't help but like him!

I'm gonna make a separate thread for this video project in the General Sasuke forum. You guys can ask me questions or lend me your support there.

That should be in the Sasuke Media forum and not General Sasuke though, UNLESS it involves Sasuke 31 info or clips or anything related to that (Which it probably would) and would be in the Sasuke 31 forum until the restriction is lifted (which won't be for a while)

It'll be in the SASUKE 31 forum.

Hey guys, just updating this thread. The guy on YouTube (888darkfire1) posted another countdown: Top Ten Competitors, recently on his channel. We (the forums) actually got mentioned in the video lol! I'd say it is worth checking out, although the forums are NOT gonna be happy with his pick for number 2... omg, I didn't see it coming. Please show some community support! Keep in mind, the footage contains SASUKE 31 SPOILERS!

I made a pretty big comment on the video because I'm actually happy about this list. I can finally explain my reasoning for my choices too! Ok! Time for me to crack my top 10 and your #4 is my #1. I will forever look at Shingo as the savior of SASUKE saving the show not just once but TWICE! Oh and his runs seem to make me laugh or cry or flat out fill me with joy. He's simply a joy to see. #10: Bunpei Shiratori (For his dedication to the course and for being a big help for inspiring young competitors everywhere. Also the shrine was a bonus. Too bad he tore it down...) #9: Hitoshi Kanno (His strong will and his performance in SASUKE 31 helped him rise a rank. Even though his strength was sapped after the Sidewinder-R he miraculously cleared the crazy cliffhanger which was his main goal at the point. Anything beyond that would have just been icing on the cake but nothing more.) #8: Masashi Hioki (The "Dark Horse" of the new generation (not shin sedai), Hioki stuck with me kinda how Shinya did. Once the first stage was passed it would be smooth sailing from there at least until the cliffhanger. Also his friendship with Shingo Yamamoto was an added bonus) #7: Kazuma Asa (HIS EMOTIONS!!! He shows them ALWAYS during his runs and off them. He's a joy to watch as he was when he finally cleared stage 1 in SASUKE 27. He was speechless! As was I! He's moved up 2 ranks due to his performances as of late and his sudden marriage proposal before his SASUKE 31 run. Still can't clear that cliffhanger even after all that...) #6: Ryo Matachi (Mostly due to his run in SASUKE 30, Ryo was expected to do well in 31 but pressure got the better of him (As well as Nagano and Yuuji). I sympathize with him mostly due to that and I honestly hope he will become a champion soon enough. Speaking of champions...) #5: (Same as yours) Yusuke Morimoto (He is the prime example of achieving your dreams as young as you can be. By far the youngest champion and proving with patience, determination, love for the sport, and training, good things will happen. Congrats Yusuke! ) #4: Yuuji Urushihara (Moving up one slot is the 2 time champion of SASUKE, the only one of its kind. LIke Ryo he was shut down by the wall but unlike Ryo... he didn't give in immediately... he continued to try and scale the wall long after time had expired... he never thought the wall could ever defeat him but... it did... and the show itself told him to stop... something in Yuuji wanted him to prove he can do it but he did stop... it was surreal...) #3: Makoto Nagano (GASP He's not #1! Yep Nagano is at #3 as he always has been. This is what you call training wherever you may be. Adapting! He's training on his fishing boat and is by far the most successful of the allstars however like Yuuji and Ryo he was stopped at the wall, something he's passed more than not. If he retires now I won't think of SASUKE the same but... it be worse without the guy in #1...) #2: Toshihiro Takeda (I'm shocked he wasn't mentioned on this list! I can't forget about the all star who's most consistently in the 3rd stage! Clearing it however is a whole new battle which he's faced more than anyone else but always failing... His run in SASUKE 24 was really what sealed the deal for me. He suddenly was carrying the fate of the all stars in his hands. Nagano wasn't... the jumping spider disposed of him earlier... Takeda never thought he could carry his teams' fate with him but he was... with 5 finalists it was a clear chance that he could EASILY join them but... the spider flip... the dreaded spider flip... no one could bare to look as he lost his fight and fell out of contention... Nagano especially fell into tears... even the future finalists fell in respect for his effort... it's easily the most emotional moment in SASUKE...) #1: Shingo Yamamoto (FINALLY SOMEONE MORE LIGHTHEARTED! Seriously when was the last time you saw Shingo NOT happy or whatever? He's ALWAYS got a smile on his face and he's easily the most recognizable of the competitors. His runs speak for themselves. If he clears you KNOW he'll be proud of what he did. If not then it's going to be a spectacular wipeout no questions asked. He's not one to get angry over a fail but he will usually be in disbelief about it but he's usually smiling even still. He's been in every single SASUKE tournament to date, something no one else can replicate though Yamada was close. He's seen it all, every obstacle every successful run every failure. It's amazing how much he's grown in front of us. We never saw him face to face and yet he's someone we root for every time because of how much he is to SASUKE. He's dedicated, focused, and determined to succeed, something the show always wants in a competitor and he delivers. You never would think he worked at a gas station for 15 years. That's pretty much a feat of itself! He will ALWAYS be my #1 because he was my first friend I made from Japan not including family. He's approachable and quite a sweet man that apparently likes poke wars! XD He actually poked me last night on Facebook. THANKS GOOFBALL! XD) Size and also some SASUKE 31 spoilers.

This is his latest video: his thoughts on American Ninja Warrior season 7. He says he'll be back to SASUKE in the future so don't worry. Heads up, his footage is slightly blurry, but I don't think it detracts from the overall viewing experience...

He updated again with more Sasuke content!!! This time it's his thoughts and feelings on Sasuke Indonesia, Inui's channel and Ninja Warrior Germany, in a kind of news/first impressions video... Once again, he needs your support, so please give his video a shot and like and all that jazz... He says his next video is his "perfect Sasuke course" (stage 1), so stay tuned for that I guess!

I don't like his channel and I disagree with many of his opinions. How can he place the octupus as the 10th best competitor ever that's just pathetic and how can he place Shingo Yamamoto as number 4 higher than Takahashi, Akiyama, Morimoto, Hitoshi and many others? He has competed many times but I think he's overrated and he seriously shouldn't be considered a Ninja Warrior role model, I don't see how competing endless of times makes you one, it's about quality not quantity. I'm sure if there was qualifying rounds in Japan we would have seen him far less in Midoriyama. There has been competitors who have been in Midoriyama far less and who has come much farther than him and some have been there once or twice and beat the whole course but Shingo has failed stage one 14 times and has only attempted stage 4 twice in 31 competitions. Now he's 41 and I don't think he's ever gonna beat the whole course.
And I also wanted to comment on his worst obstacles list. He places Skywalk as the 8th worst obstacle without ever seing it attempted and without explaining why but just saying that it's a rehash when it's obviously not since it's a brand new idea and the moron places the bungee bridge as the 4th worst obstacle calling it one of the dumbest obstacles ever?? And then he makes a video about ANW 7 complaining about the prize not getting split or not having a seoncd place prize and etc. when the rules said that the fastest wins and is the first ANW and when ANW isn't just a challenge but a competition and only 1 can win a competition and in many competitions like American Gladiators for example there aren't/wasn't any second place prizes.

A few points... 1) It isn't the "best" competitors in his list. They're his PERSONAL favourites, so having Octopus Man as number 10 because he thinks he is funny and because he likes that someone so old comes back time and again, is not necessarily wrong. He said he was his tenth favourite, not the tenth best.
2) Shingo is a fan favourite and an All-Star. He has reached the final stage twice which is very impressive, and is arguably the most successful All-Star "these days". Many would say that Shingo (as the only man every to attempts every tournament) deserves to be HIGHER, not lower! Once again, he is not calling him the 4th BEST, just his fourth favourite, and opinions cannot be wrong.
3) The Skywalk is just a Cliffhanger with a wall, so it isn't the most amazingly original idea ever anyway. Once again, his opinion.
4) I agree with him that the bungee bridge is dumb. It clearly wasn't thought out, since its design made it almost impossible to fail as the bungee ropes would stretch and then immediately break your fall. Also calling someone a moron because of their personal opinion is pretty pathetic.
5) Look around you mate. Almost EVERYONE is angry at the American Ninja Warrior result. The video wasn't just about the result but a review of the WHOLE SEASON. People are angry because both competitors beat the course, but only one is getting any recognition, and that is wrong.
So no, if you dislike his videos fine. If you disagree, fine. But writing a huge post on a forum, FLAMING HIM because you disagree with his personal opinions and calling him names and insulting him... what are you, five years old? Your whole post was completely unnecessary, and if you want to start bashing people for their opinions on this forum, you are going to have a very hard time. I'm sure other members would agree with me.
