I voted for Ryo but my money would be on Yuuji or Yusuke.

I think neither of these, but If I had to choose, probably Ryo, Kanno and Asa are not clearing 3rd stage, considering the difficulty will go up and Mioki is just a "regular guy", still I like him.

I mean, I'm not expecting anyone to win 32 no doubt, but I want someone to shock us with a win. Ryo, Asa, and Kanno are so predictable to win, hell, even Yusuke was predictable but less predictable than Ryo.

I keep thinking that Kanno checked out mentally after beating the CCH thinking he had completed the 3rd stage when there was more to go through. If not for that, he would have beaten the Vertical Limit Kai and joined Yusuke in the Final. So yeah, Kanno is still my choice.

I'd say it was more "if I beat the Third Stage cool, but I'm more than satisfied now". Morimoto on the other hand was aiming to beat the whole damn thing.

We were all shocked when he cleared the Cliffhanger but knew he was done. He spent a long time clutching his arms after that clear. We knew he wasn't even remotely able to do the Vertical so when he got to the transition it was more of a "damn he got that far?". To say he checked out doesn't give him the credit he deserved. He was hurtin' pretty bad and to get there through sheer will power was exceptional.

On the sidewinder he started to grimace and took a while to get to the CCH. Kanno was one of the rare ones that used his upper body to hang on to the Sidewinder. Most of them used their legs to grab on as best they could. I think Kanno paid for that technique. Once he left the CCH he reaaaaaaaally took time to work on his arms. They didn't really show that on the broadcast now that I rewound that part to see it. He kept working on his arms slapping them to get them to work so all of us kinda knew what was going to happen. Still though, we were amazed he toughed out the CCH given that he was grimacing before the CCH and even had conversations with the guys before doing the CCH. By the time he got to the vertical everyone was trying to tell him it was okay and just go for it.

I'm proud of him for making it as far as he did. I'm sure he's just happy he managed to beat his nemesis even still. Kanno is a BEAST!

I'm fine with whoever wins next, as anyone who trains hard enough has demonstrated their great commitment to (and respect for) the course. That being said, it's hard for me to predict who the next winner will be, but I'm hoping we do see at least one more winner (and hopefully more over the upcoming years).

If Inui is evil enough, no one will win. Maybe that's a good thing.

Kanno's Stage 3 fail was a classic Stage fail. Not the boring ones nowadays that just end not-so-dramatically on the Cliffhanger. It was like Takeda in 15, Koji Yamada in 16 and Takeda in 21 to name a few. He just could not hang on. As soon as you saw the close-up of his face you knew where he was going. That's the type of failure Stage 3 needs.

Yeah, Stage 3 also needs more mixed results.

I don't have much to add thread-wise, but I definitely agree with the last few comments. I'm getting kind of bored with everyone just failing out on the Cliffhanger. There needs to be more variety. I wouldn't even be too upset if they discontinued the Cliffhanger altogether.
