I've been wondering, I've watched the runs of all the competitors that attempted this obstacle, but it got me thinking, do you guys think it's possible to just jump from the starting point of the obstacle to the landing pad below it without even touching the music box itself?
I don't know if TBS had a rule for that, but it doesn't look that much longer of a gap compared to the Hazard swing from Sasuke 26, and the platform for that obstacle was above the starting point. On the contrary though, the run up is also much shorter on the music box obstacle.

I'm pretty sure there was a rule against it, but if there wasn't it's probably about as hard as the obstacle to try to skip to the end (at least for me, I don't have a good vertical) but I feel it'd be easier to use the cylinder on the obstacle.

You would be skipping the obstacle in which case why bother doing Sasuke at all? This isn't a Freerunning competition.

Even ANW has a rule against that, you think Sasuke wouldn't as well?

Tbh I wouldn't see the point in skipping the whole obstacle. The Music Box was waaaay too easy anyway, and wouldn't take much more time to complete normally. If you had good co-ordination and even a little strength it basically posed no threat. Hopefully it either spins faster next time or doesn't return.

Knowing the rulings on both the new Salmon ladder and the CCH, it was probably against the rules anyway to jump the obstacle. I don't see the obstacle returning for Sasuke 32 either but I could be wrong.

Nah! I'd just do the obstacle (and probably fail it! XD)

I mean, that is a pretty big and risky jump. I'd just take the safe route of trying the obstacle and failing it anyways (decided after observing pics)

I mean it's a pretty easy jump and would save a lot of time, but 99.999999% sure it'd be a dq to do so

Nah, it would probably equal a DQ. BTW I'd have LOVED to see what would've happened if wreathman did that and how they couldn't tell him it was illegal.

So why not jump and kick the music box like Drew did to the HPA? You don't technically skip it then, do you? People jumped over the hazard swing.

It's not like you could practice this strategy in all fairness, building a music box at home would be pretty tough lol

Considering there isn't any real padding, probably don't want to risk messing up your legs/feet/ankles trying to jump the gap, never mind that it's more than a ten foot wide of one.

Some people jumped the Hazard Swing as well. If the obstacle can be jumped and Sasuke crew don't want it to, it is poorly built obstacle.
