Fun fact: Perry actually completed stage 2, in the time limit, during season 2 testing.

Similar to Sasuke & ANW, a group of mainstays are forming similar to All-Stars, comprised of Teige Matthews Palmer, Tim Champion and Timothy Shieff. They also have their first Octopus Man type competitor with "nanny ninja", who has failed on the first quintuple step both times. I'd be definitely adding Toby Segar and Ruel DaCosta into that group at least, despite Ruel's rather early exit in series 1 , he shows his true skills in series 2. I was shocked that Dion (Trigg) didn't get picked for series 2 as well given his devotion to Sasuke, him and his Dad in series 1 made for a good TV story even if you didn't know about his devotion to it. Really glad we're getting series 3, obviously hoping I'm 3rd time lucky progression, 1st season application nothing, 2nd season got audition but not picked..fingers crossed! And I see just announced that Challenge (I assume, as it's Jim North tweeting it..) are going to show Sasuke 28+ !

The final was... interesting to say the least. The Paddle Boards proved to be the killer in the end, it took out 8 out of 15 finalists.
I was extremely disappointed in the result.

For the 2nd year in a row... the British public have COMPLETELY missed the point of the show. This gets on my nerves...
- Very sexist show, no females in the final because they have to do the same course as the men, shame on you Ninja Warrior!!!!!
- I actually feel sorry for all the competitors, it's just too hard and even the winner must feel like he failed, it's actually a really crap show!
- That paddle board obstacle is ridiculous. No point to it. It can't be done properly.
- A competition without a winner = What is the point..?!!! Massive let down
- Don't like the fact they don't 're do it until someone actually completes it so stupid last man standing means nothing!!
- What is the point in this show? It's like a marathon where everyone pulls out. Pointless
This is hilarious. How can people get this worked up about a show...

tbf though it's all good you saying the fans don't get the point, but in fact they completely get the point, as if they don't like it, they won't watch and then they'res no show, and the UK audience is WAY more casual than the US. I predict now S3 will be the last season as the designers are too focused on an American difficulty format where 100 people run the final compared to the UK one where only 15 do. NW:UK has a PRIMETIME spot on the most watched channel in the country at historically the best time for ratings and it's only drawing roughly a 3.8m, compared to eg. X Factor/Saturday Night takeaway which both draw 8-10m. This is the second year now and fans are tuning out, it's a fact, viewership is down by a half since S1 episode 1, and it's due to incompetent designers who make the show all about the obstacles which doesn't work with such a casual viewership, especially with the stringent DQ rules, that annoyed a lot of people as well. Now a lot of viewers think "Why should I watch 7 and a half weeks of the same course just to see Stage 2 end in 3 minutes?" and I can guarantee they won't pull 3 million next season and it will be scrapped. The design team need to have a real talking to because this isn't some Swedish or Turkish programme getting like a 2% share, this show at 7m was getting a 32% SHARE!!! That is a WAY bigger market than ANW and they've literally blown it. Now obviously this year was nowhere near as bad course design wise as Season 1, but the fact they made the bridge so hard which took out practically everyone is like Snake Bridge in ANW, but rather than do a re-run they were just like well I guess it'll do. Now I understand yes it is do-able, but the fact that not one of these 15 even attempted the Unstable Bridge is shocking and as they were prepared so much better this time just screams out to a casual audience "this is a pile of crap, why bother watching this anymore". And if you want an example of this, see Total Wipeout, it went from Silly but do-able to silly and impossible, audience halved, it was cancelled. Unless there are significant changes to next season (and sack Rochelle, she's just terrible ), they're won't be a Season 4, which really sucks as it has so much potential but is executed so poorly. Positives though!: Salmon Ladder was fixed! (even though bar was wrong material so it slid but meh for this company they've done pretty well) Jumping Spider was a good difficulty! Invisible Ladder was built correctly! Everything else seemed good and a fair course bar the bridge (well except Rope Jungle, but that's American influence for ya ) Was much better than last year How I'd improve it!: Keep Stage 1 of final the same but put a nice PROVEN obstacle as the balance one, something like spinning log or bridge of blades or something, something that is tested properly and by noobs, not just that awesome guy (ANW has testers like eg. Rider running the course to make sure the average competitor has a chance of clearing them, UK has people like Perry who's a beast testing them which isn't representative of the competitors) Make the final a MINIMUM of 25 people. This way we should get at least 7 on Stage 2. Make it outdoors! This will make it more different for audiences and give the company more room creatively as the Manchester Exhibition Hall is really small and it is hard for them to make competent normal size obstacles, let alone scaling some down. But this isn't that big of a problem so no worries if this can't be changed. Add more variety for the casual viewer! Casual viewer is fed up of Steps -> Slider obstacle -> Same balance obstacle -> Jump Hang Variant -> Stage 3 style obstacle -> Wall, so swap the jump hang for jumping spider occasionally or slider obstacle for a giant cycle or something. TEST THE OBSTACLES SO THEY WONT TAKE OUT 3/4 OF YOUR BEST ATHLETES!!! And again, replace Rochelle So yes, it may seem hilarious, but when it gets cancelled due to crap ratings then we'll see how hilarious not listening to fans is Rant over

I'm a big fan of the Ninja Warrior/SASUKE franchise. But huge changes need to be made. No.1: Completely different format - Who wants to watch a final with only 15 competitors in it? What about 100 like in Japan? Much more watchable. No.2: Completely different host - Does anyone get tired of Kammy laughing? and Ben naming the obstacles wrong? and Rochelle's interviews? No.3: The location. Why indoors? Have the producers even watched the other shows? They're all outdoors!!!
I can officially say this is the WORST SASUKE/ANW Spinoff ever! Worse than X-Warrior, worse than Ninja Warrior Turkey etc.
If these changes aren't made soon, this show's gonna be cancelled quickly!

They need to change the time limits on the final. Way too damn strict. Its a problem that Sasuke has had occasionally, too.
Outside of that I loved the UK version. Particularly love the editing that allows for puff pieces about the athletes but still shows so many of the contestants.

And as for stage 2, they did make it more lenient in 2. You start at Rope Jungle instead of having to climb a rope.

Viewership isn't down though. Most of the episodes this series has the same, if not higher ratings than last time. And I thought 8 was meant to be the best time slot? Yeah it's usually Take Me Out that gets better ratings. It all depends on the time of the year. It's all Good comparing NWUK to X-Factor, but that "season" of TV has more big shows overall, leading to more people watching TV in general. The only reason NWUK has such a good time slot is its time of the year, and for such a low point in the year, it does its job well.

Worse than X-Warrior, worse than Ninja Warrior Turkey etc. If these changes aren't made soon, this show's gonna be cancelled quickly! As Arsenette would say, I VEHEMENTLY DISAGREE
The worst spinoff ever? Not by a long shot. At least it actually had money/effort put into it, unlike X-Warrior. At least the course design/construction made sense, unlike, again, X-Warrior. At least the show isn't completely rigged, unlike Turkey. At least the show didn't just have a few haphazardly cobbled together obstacles, unlike Bahrain. See where this is going? Mechanically, the show is already better than a handful of ANW spinoffs.
Secondly, the show being cancelled soon seems unlikely at this point. It performs well for a show in its time of the year, and I believe ratings are overall up from last season. The show does well, and has little competition. It is also relatively cheap to produce, so it is essentially a win-win for ITV.
Thirdly, are you aware of what the UK is like? The show tapes in Winter, and it would be IMPOSSIBLE to have an outdoors course at any time in England, as hugely unreliable weather and frequent rain would make filming near-impossible. The best we can hope for is a switch to a larger convention centre/multiple venues. And while I agree with you on Kammy, Ben doesn't name obstacles wrong: they are renamed to suit British audiences (e.g. Spider Climb to Chimney Climb).
So no, while the show has a laundry of flaws, could massively improve and may be disappointing, it is not terrible. It has a passionate following and I believe it can still improve for the future. Rant/reply over.

I haven't seen or followed the second season so I'm not sure what was different this time around. Does anyone know how the ratings were this time around?
