The whole thing with Moravsky wanting to be paid is a bit arrogant. Nagano held Sasuke together for who knows how long and never asked for a dime from TBS. The all stars as a whole could had monopolized off of the entire show had they wanted to at some point. Yes, Sasuke is a smaller show than ANW, but I think the point still stands.

I'm just saying, if Isaac went first and cleared with 3 seconds left, would the time limit for Geoff had been 27 seconds? Nope K thanks wasn't in the room as Isaac was on the final stage lol

I imagine if Isaac was on Sasuke he'd be even MORE showboaty, since it's not nearly as big of a deal to him as ANW is.
Also I kind of hope he doesn't go onto Sasuke. I like seeing Americans on the Sasuke course, but it'd be quite awkward to have an American winner; let's be honest, Isaac would crush Sasuke sans stupid mental errors.

Could see him failing any one of Sasuke 31's Stage 3's final 3 obstacles. A lot of moves he doesn't train specifically for as far as I know.

Getting DQ'd for turning around and Pipe Slider dismount is pretty much the only problems he'd have in 31's stage 3, also that course is irrelevant since it's probably getting scrapped for 32

I know the American cliff-hanger is waaaay easier than the Sasuke version, but Isaac finished the ANW7 third stage like it was child's play. He didn't even look winded when he hit the finish platform. This is a guy that does v14 bouldering courses. Tiny ledges are his specialty. I agree that's the hardest part of Sasuke and harder than anything in ANW, but if there's anyone who would be able to beat it, it's Isaac. They would need an insane third stage (or a bulls**t one, like bringing back the nunchuks) for Isaac to fail.

I agree, if you take a look at the elite bouldering comps like the Psicobloc deep water solo ing then anw stage 3 looks relatively easy, especially for someone who specializes in both bouldering and ninja training. I mean compare the Psicobloc wall to the hang climb at ANW, which looks like a V1-2!

I just read many of the posts in the previous couple of pages in this thread and a lot of the comments on the page about this season on facebook and I gotta say I'm quite sick of all the people complaining about Geoff not getting awarded. It didn't at all surprise me when I saw that the fastest got crowned and won the award when I saw the show live. Because all tv shows are like that which means there's always only one winner and they said before starting the last stage that there can only be 1 winner and the one who gets up fastest is the first ANW and winner of the 1 million dollar prize. So rules are rules there can only be 1 winner and they can't just change the rules at the last minute and I'm sure that the competitors were also required to sign contracts about that before competing so I think it was all part of the plan and there's no need to worry. I'm sure it wasn't just something they changed in the last minute but even if they did it wouldn't surprise me and I don't really think it's any of my business. The ones who run Sasuke pulled something similliar when Drew Drecshel used a new technique on the Crazy Cliffhanger in the previeous season of Sasuke which they suddenly said was not allowed when he completed it even though they told him something else before he ran the stage.
It doesn't at all matter who went up first, and who hit all the buzzers - who cares? And I don't understand why people are making such a big deal out it of because it's only your performance in Mount Midoriyama that matters when going to stage 4 and the one who completed the previeous stage fastest is always the one who runs last. Let's say if they had two ropes and they had to go up simultaneously then the one who gets up fastest is the first ANW and that would've definitely have been Isaac when he beeat him with almost 4 seconds to spare so I think that's what they mean when they say that Isaac is the first ANW. And to preach that Isaac gives Geoff some of the money I think is just silly, a very personal case and none of my or anybody else's business, so man just move on. All shows and sports that are annualised in seasons have always had only one winner so to me it doesn't make any sense to crown 10 winners if there was so many who completed in a season it would just look silly and stupid to crown so many with a trophy, it's called American Ninja Warrior for a reason not American Ninja Warriors. ANW is indeed a show but it is also a competition (and sometimes considered a sport) that means it's not only man vs. course but it's also man vs. man and it's always been like that. For example In golf you compete against the course but you also compete against others and that's the same in ANW.

We aren't saying that there should be more than 1 winner, or that Isaac should split the money with Geoff, or whatever. To my knowledge, most of us are saying that (1) NBC and other affiliated outlets should not "lie" by saying Isaac was the first person to complete Stage 4, and that (2) Geoff is a cool dude and should be rewarded in some way, whether by money, recognition, or whatever. If people feel differently, that's fine. Personally, I donated $20 to that gofundme thingy. Not because I feel Geoff was "cheated", but because he's a badass, and I like to support badasses. As for Isaac, he's a badass too, and can do whatever he wants with his winnings, because he's a winner.

It was already established before sasuke 31 that drew's technique on crazy cliffhanger was illegal. It was a miscommunication on the part of TBS international. I think you should read the SASUKE 31 boards regarding this. I think the crux of most of our arguments is NBC hardly giving any credit to Geoff at all even about being the first. Sasuke never had this issue because they never alluded to a winner in their show title unlike American ninja warrior. In which case it may have been more helpful to define what has to be done to achieve said title. Ie simply clear all 4 stages, or beat the other person/people by going faster while doing so? Kunoichi didn't have this issue when they had 2 winners. Anyway, if there were 10 winners we wouldn't be arguing about whether they should be recognised, I think we would be arguing about the level of difficulty they set the course at.

NBC did nothing to help themselves. They complicated the situation by interviewing Geoff and calling him the First American Ninja Warrior. They have only themselves to blame for the misunderstanding and the subsequent fallout to "Ninja Gate" as the major media is calling it. The rest of the comments I'm not even bothering to address since it's obvious that person hasn't read what we've been saying, bothered to read the details of issues that were clearly discussed at naseum. Bringing up something about Drew that has zero to do with this subject and clearly erroneous also proves that he is shifting his frustration of Facebook and the major media onto us. We've already dealt with it and moved on when Geoff did on this very forum. No need to rehash it simply because someone is late to the party and has an axe to grind.

Geoff beat 6 stages of ANW including qualifying, so if there was a debate as to who is the winner it should be him, as Isaac failed city finals. End of story.

Only your performance in midoriyama counts and that doesn't have anything to do with your performance in qualifying. Maybe it only affects when you have to start your first run in midoriyama, but that's all, everybody competing in midoriyama are equally competitors.

You are speaking as if he didn't complete anything and should just STFU..

Yes he was the first because he was the slowest on stage 3 which he barely completed due to his grip strength so he had to run first but it obviously doesn't matter who was first or who was second or how you did in the qualifying, if there were two ropes obviously Isaac would've been the first. That's what they mean when they call him the first ANW. Two winners wasn't what they had in mind so they obviously had to compete for the prize since it's a competition.

The producers already said they are going to change the rules to accommodate it because it is a competition and they both achieved victory. This wouldn't have been an issue if there was no "problem" with the already established rules. The only thing we contest here on this forums is the fact that if this happened in Sasuke, BOTH would have won. However, Sasuke does not have the prize money of that size so we wouldn't know if they would split or give both the money. However, Kunoichi has had a co-champion situation and BOTH won the money (albeit 1/10th the amount of the USA prize money). The problem I'm having with your post is that you are transferring your frustration with Facebook and incorrectly pushing it here. We are not the Facebook community. We know the rules. We have for years (as it hasn't changed). The optics of what happened on NBC is the only thing we are complaining about. THAT has made news nationwide and continues to show that ANW is a "show" and not a sport simply because someone who completes the course doesn't get jack. That doesn't happen in any sport both professional or amateur.

You know, I wish there had been two ropes - and i wouldn't give it to Isaac that quickly. Head to head changes everything and there is no way he would have started slow if I took off like i had. I got to see a split screen in real time of our climb and i was ahead till the last 10 feet. about 2 body lengths ahead halfway up - he would have gone all out and that changes everything, would have come down to heart at the top. Who knows how that would have played out.

Were you required to sign any contracts about the rules before competing saying that only the fastest gets the price or was it just something they changed in the last minute?

Were you required to sign any contracts about the rules before competing saying that only the fastest gets the price or was it just something they changed in the last minute? That has been in the NDA for at least 5 years (possibly more). There's copies floating around on the net for each year's Non Disclosure Agreement. Anyone who competes in ANW is required to sign it.
