Wait I was half expecting Shingo to fail there. He's trained to go down the Salmon ladder before? I guess that must be from the Maguro Festival... I do actually remember that now that you mention it.

I rewatched the videos and yeah he did it effortlessly. But That was then. This is actual SASUKE. Can he put his practice into place?

He's been on a hot streak as of SASUKE 29 so it's very possible! BTW the name is good. It certainly works for what it's meant to be.

via tbs's youtube page, the new obstacle is called the kudari salmon ladder. The video title still only says Salmon Ladder and the on-screen text has the kudari in parentheses. The Yahoo page says the same. Whatever is in 「」 is the obstacle name. I think we should wait until the broadcast to see what they say, since Navi added -R to the Sidewinder that is not present on the youtube video.

Kudari was used in a modified version of the Lamp Gasper in the Shin-SASUKE era, right? Kudari Lamp Grasper was a modified downwards-only version of the original obstacle. Taking this into account Kudari Salmon Ladder is a name that only the second portion of the obstacle should take. (Similar to Spider Walk- Spider Drop in SASUKE 30) Only know some basic Japanese words so I may be wrong after all

In the case of the modified Salmon Ladder, they haven't officially added Kudari to the name, just in parentheses. It's a small thing but like saying "Tackle Boxes" it's more because the users from the forums are generally the people who edit the wiki and it's better if we clarify things when we can. Also, we don't name obstacles. Only the show (be it SASUKE, ANW or any of the variants) can do that. Spider Drop was named by the show but not as an obstacle unto itself.

OK, possibly completely dumb question, as I know I'm still sleepy and probably will go back to sleep in a minute (just managed to wake up for the Nico Nico special about these, and even then was falling asleep during the end of that): is there any reason we're not romanizing Orugoru as Orgel, since it's a German/Dutch loan word (yes, my anal-retentive self did look up the origin, since I picked up the Japanese use of it from who knows where now...)?

You do have a point. We don't call the Crazy Cliffhanger the Kureiji Kurifuhangaa

This is perfectly fine for the romanization. People will probably still call it the Music Box though.
