We do this every year and I didn't see it when I got back. This thread is SOLELY for obstacles and speculation on obstacles. This is NOT a competitor spoiler thread. This is meant for those who wanted to see obstacles without having the tournament spoiled. When you find a photo, please post where you find it, with a link to it's location. It helps everyone to know where it came from (and me later when adding copyrights. LOL) Enjoy the discussion and please be courteous to those who want to participate in anticipation threads without fearing being spoiled. That said, be warned that inadvertent spoilers may happen from time to time (especially with new people) so be forewarned before continuing on this thread. The competition has been completed in full and all results are in. We have approximately 1 1/2 months until airing. A thread will be created when the official airdate is made available by TBS.

In all honesty, I'm not too bummed I skipped out on the livestream where they built the final stage, it seems like it's the same for the most part and was probably pretty boring to watch.

Adding onto what arsenette said, if you do feel it is necessary to say anything that could potentially allude to spoilers (even if it is pure speculation), please put it in spoiler tags. Try not to make this a thread that is 90% "SPOILER: CLICK TO REVEAL" posts, though; use your best judgment.

Looking closer at the Barrel Climb, I can sort of see the sides of logs. I don't of this has been noticed (probably has) but maybe it is like what mattskills said he submitted. Although that could just be supporting it, but I hadn't seen anyone comment on that so here is my comment.

^ It's pretty obvious it's a Barrel Climb/Rapid Descent fusion. You don't have to psychoanalyze to see it.

That final stage looks so sexy.

It's a fusion, but he might just have had one of those ideas where they already had (apparently that was with a number of submissions).

True, I can't really call something that's just two obstacles that weren't my ideas put together my own idea, can I?

In the end, there is a finite number of workable (in this case I define workable as something that is within budget, safe and thematic) obstacles so ideas are going to be recycled or people will hit on similar ideas from time to time. Anyway, please remember that it was said by Inui that this show would be "back to the basics" for the most part. Also, he and his staff are not thinking about SASUKE all year long like people here do. They have other projects to do. Inui was doing the World Table Tennis Championships a month before SASUKE, and I imagine that TBS probably puts a lot of emphasis on the former because Japan finally has some players who can consistently compete with (although not always beat) the table tennis Juggernaut that is China (Japan was the only country other than China to get a silver at the championships - South Korea got a gold but it was a China/SK mixed team). Also: {Spoiler}Made you click.

I all honesty, I think the Tackle Machine was a dumb idea. It's not only boring, but it's not even failable.

True the tackle Machine didn't take anyone out, it certainly did a number on a certain all star's shoulder and would later bite him in the bud in stage 3... which he barely achieved so in reality it did do ok as a time waster.

For Roller Hill, I have a feeling the top set of logs could move, looking at how they are set up.

For Roller Hill, I have a feeling the top set of logs could move, looking at how they are set up. Probably. It would make the obstacle more of a challenge, probably enough to take out a good portion of competitors, but not so hard it eats the entire 100.

What does the sidewinder do?

I'm assuming you cling onto them and transfer onto the others (similar to Floating Board but round), that's just my guess though, and that's assuming it's alot like something else taped on the same night... Although based on the mount of Sidewinder it looks like they spin instead of being suspended on a straight cable

Yeah, if they spun or anything it wouldn't really fix Sasuke at all that legit would fit in perfectly with Takeshi's Castle or Wipeout though.
