Feel like there should still be a ratings thread, just to keep the tradition going. As for the premiere episode, via zap2it: That's around 5.8 million viewers which appears to have won the night between the Big 4, and according to NBC, the show won every half hour including the block where it competed with The Bachlorette.

ABC won the night due to a poor performance by The Island, but American Ninja Warrior was the most-watched show of the night, drawing 5.89 million viewers to The Bachelorette's 5.32 million. The Bachelorette's lead-in, 500 Questions, finished with 5.22 million in fourth place (a 2 Broke Girls re-run finished third).
I imagine American Ninja Warrior won't hold this lead for long; The Bachelorette moves to 8:00 next week, and So You Think You Can Dance premieres in the same 2-hour block on Fox (who ran a MasterChef re-run last week). CBS appears to be running re-runs all summer on Monday.

Yeah, you also gotta know that there are some people who probably didn't care for the show and won't show up again next episode.

I remember the days when G4 celebrated ANW getting a 0.2, quite the jump to where we are now

Say what you will about the obstacles, the editing, and all that. It's drawing in the viewers, slowly but surely. My thoughts? I'm happy for the sake of everyone running the course, but I feel bad for those who just didn't get the air time. Still, it makes it almost certain that another season is coming, if the ratings keep up.

It rose to 7.12 million viewers and a 2.2 in the second hour, which is remarkable. Those are numbers that would have the show considered a hit if it aired during the fall-spring season. Shows don't usually grow in numbers this many seasons in, so NBC has to be thrilled. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they are having discussions about potentially ordering a cycle of ANW to be used in the fall-spring season in place of a show they cancel during the season.. It would certainly do better than running something like Dateline.

They historically don't do well during the fall season as previous seasons that run into the fall have attested to. It's a hit summer event and that's nothing to sneeze at. And for the record they have broken 2.0 several times. Last year they did it once and previous seasons did it several times (capping at 2.4).

Led the night again. Like you said, though, we'll see how the show does now that it can't constantly tease Kacy.

Hmm ratings are down from last year overall in the market. Less and less are watching tv as expected so the pool is smaller.
