Sooo.. I was checking on my twitter and found a couple of articles. Article OneArticle TwoSo.. if I'm reading correctly.. it's a time lapse video of them building the Final Stage tower from a fixed camera position? I'm so confused.. Either way I put spoilers in the title in case they show more than intended. If you want to not see any spoilers or want to be surprised about obstacles then don't watch this broadcast. While I have no idea of the exact content of the broadcast (or length of the broadcast), avoid this thread entirely. Sasuke tapes next weekend. A countdown at the main page of SMF shows when Sasuke tournament will begin taping. This broadcast tonight (in about 11 hours) will NOT be the tournament but rather.. construction?

One of the articles notes that they won't be putting up the "decorations" today, meaning the SASUKE flag and whatnot.

This is more for arseenette but I'll put it here anyway. Inui shows up at the end to answer some questions: {Spoiler}This is a bit out of order:
There will be six new "areas." No stages mentioned.
Yamada is not competing. It does look like there will be another Yamada-gundan though.
Inui is 50 years old.
He says that two SASUKEs a year is impossible.
There should be a SASUKE Park.
No Shinji Kobayashi.
Yuka-pi, aka Paper Girl, makes an appearance partway through.
Okuyama won't be there.
Yuka-pi is 30.
I'm not 100 percent sure but Inui says the theme for this show is gentenkaiki which would mean back to the basics.
All-Stars there: Takeda, Nagano, Shingo, Yamada-gundan (not Yamada).
No Kane.
No Bunpei due to "doctor stop."
Not sure which celebrities will be on the show. He'll know next week.
No Superman.
Looks like the next show will be four hours.
No Omori.
They can't/won't say when the airdate will be.
No Long Jump.
Inui thinks he can make it to, but not clear the Backstream.
No Hedgehog.
I believe there will be only one Soritatsu Kabe.
I'm sure I missed some stuff.

I'm sure I missed some stuff. Thanks. I missed a lot of it of course not understanding Japanese. I got a few words here and there and laughed when he was saying the All-Stars and heard when he said the Tigers but not Yamada himself. Interesting on the other things. Curious what will turn out once we get there. Also, TBS might not have told him when the air date is. Usually that's reserved for the taping and sometimes even then they don't know it if it's too far out. Shame on Bunpei though. Also if they plan to do that World event, that would be in place of the 2nd Sasuke tournament.

So in place of that 2nd tournament per year, it's at least projected to be the World tournament. We'll see how it plays out. Lord knows we've seen similar attempts fail. I'm more hopeful though with TBS having more control over it. So if it works out, Sasuke 31, Sasuke World, Sasuke 32, Sasuke World, and so on and so forth. The numbered series will be a yearly event thus explaining why Inui said that doing two "Sasukes" would be impossible.

No Bunpei... Shame to hear that. Must have been bad news if it was because of a Doctor stop. This means he was planning on competing at least do I have this right?

To my knowledge TBS invited him back and it was up to him if he was going to take the invite. Seems that he called them back to say he can't make it because of the advice of his Doctor.

{Spoiler}The Hedgehog is gone? That's kind of a bummer. I can live without the stupid Long Jump, but I liked the Hedgehog.

The numbered series will be a yearly event thus explaining why Inui said that doing two "Sasukes" would be impossible. Well imma be honest and I may be jumping the gun here but I don't really agree or feel particularly optimistic about this idea of this alternating tournaments between Sasuke 31, Sasuke World, Sasuke 32 and so forth. I think it hampers the continuity of the tournaments. No doubt I want to see SASUKE get traction in many other countries but I don't really feel this is the way to go about it. I liked the idea of ASEAN open cup because it was so clearly disjunct from the Sasuke tournaments in Japan, in many ways like location and tournament format, and because it was (quite obviously) an independent event from SASUKE, due to this disjuncture. I agree with the idea of qualifiers, eg. Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, especially those TBS has had a stake in organising, even though certain aspects of the execution (qualifier format or even hosts (cough cough Singapore cough cough)) were questionable, because they were subsets in the grand scheme of things that culminated in sending the best representatives to the tournament proper in Japan. But I feel that starting a World event just adds to confusion and disrupts continuity. Of course I would be more than happy for TBS to prove me wrong, but at this juncture I can't see idea this taking off. Just my thoughts.
