Since 31 has been announced, I was thinking about how I noticed a lack of veterans in 30. So, I have a question for all of SMF: who do YOU want in SASUKE 31?

Shinya,
All-Stars (that's a given)
More Americans - Drew, James, David, etc...
Of course the two stage 4 qualifiers from 30
New-stars that haven't had much of a recent presence like Okuyama and Lee-Enchi
I think the most surprising and exciting would be to see at least some more Americans compete because they are fun to watch and with ANW, the American Sasuke presence isn't what it used to. Speaking of which, I'd love to see Levi compete, but that seems super unlikely.

I'd like to see Tajima, Okada, Okuyama and Miyazaki return, and I hope Shiratori competes again. In terms of foreigners I dont want to see it return to the days of having 10 americans competing, I think 1 or 2 is enough, I would like to see Drew and David competing. Would really love to see Hashimoto back but he's retired from what I hear (sucks, he was my favourite competitor)

All-Stars, Shinya, and Shunsuke. I'd actually love to see Yusuke come back, and obviously the finalists. I honestly would be fine with a tournament without Asa's tears though.

I hope Tatsuya manages to get on SASUKE 31 if he does audition. He has a ton of potential to perform well on SASUKE. But like arsenette said, the whole entry process is more than just based on physical ability. Now they look at how well you can promote yourself and convince production why you should be on SASUKE. I hope he picks up on that and manages to promote himself well enough to get on the show.

Well you can obviously say Shingo and the rest of the all stars NOT retired (Shiratori I'm looking at you!) will be there as well as the Shin Sedai so... I do hope Shunsuke returns but whatever happened to Jun Sato, Koji Yamada, and even Daisuke Nakata! Now I know of the wrist issue but Shingo's had shoulder issues for a while longer and yet he still competes so... Oh and what of the Kosugi brothers?! Yikes I do miss them. Also for foreigners I'm ok with maybe 2 Americans. Obviously want Lee En-Chih though. that's just my take on this

Shingo's shoulder injuries are not nearly as bad as Nakata's wrist injuries. The wreck that resulted in Nakata's injuries nearly killed him. He was on his motorcycle and a truck basically ran over him in a hit-and-run. His wrists were severely damaged. Shingo's shoulder issues seem to be the result of being double-jointed, which causes instability in the joints, and can lead to dislocations. It also makes it harder for him to heal if he does get injured, even if it's a fairly minor injury. In any case, Shingo's injuries are much less severe than Nakata's.

Now that I think about it he DID compete in SASUKE 21 and the salmon ladder capitalized on the weakness and threw him out... maybe it's best for him not to return AT LEAST for actual competition but... just seeing him on the sidelines would be sweet on its own, maybe cheering on Shunsuke and Takamasa. Speaking of Takamasa...

Besides the obvious ones, like the non-retired All-Stars, Shin Sedai, and Shunsuke Nagasaki, I'd love to see Takamasa Nagasaki return and Koji Yamada. All right, so I mostly want Koji Yamada to return for the eye candy. Can you blame me?

I'd love to see Washimi come back. He was one of the two clears in 19 and hasn't had much of a shine since. It'd be nice to see him give the course another try (although he was in 29 IIRC)

I want to see Kinnikun come back, he's one of my favorites. Shunsuke definitely, I would like Yusuke to come back too. I would really love to see Kong come back (although I kind of expect him not to after the incident last time), and then there's Okuyama, Li, Asa, Yuuji (etc.)
But then there's the All-Stars (of course we know Yamada's out for his little feud with Inui that was apparently bad enough to get him banned). I would really love Bunpei to come back as well, he was my favorite All-Star next to Shingo. And I'd like to see Akiyama again, but that more than likely won't happen.
There, I think I've made my list.

Aside from those who are either given or expected to compete (after having been in 28, 29, and/or 30), I'm all in favor of having more competitors from the past making a return. It gives these individuals a shot at the new course, and gives a bit of a nostalgic feel to long-time fans (kind of in the same sense as when new obstacles return to the course after a long hiatus).

Keitaro Yamamoto. Let's hope he doesn't put "College student" in the "Describe your occupation" field again IMO he could be the 4th man to achieve Kanzenseiha

I miss Naoya Tajima, he was so close to making the Final Stage if it wasn't for slipping off the beginning of the Gliding Ring.

Tadachi, Jin, and Yahagi... aaaand Darvish. He *reaaally* needs to get his sack back from where he left it at the bottom of the Lumberjack Climb. I understand the feelz as much as anyone (after my little **mottainai** moment in St. Louis this past year), but come onnnnn... swallow it for 5 minutes and cry in the port o potty if you have to, mang!
