I know it's way early, but I like predicting pre-season picks in any sport, so why not? What do yall think? Who's been kicking butt in the off-season? Will a young gun come out on top for once? Will David Campbell finally get his butt back in gear? Will Paul Kasemir break out of "consistency" and into "supremacy"?
My picks are pretty much for who I had last year -- Isaac Caldiero or Geoff Britten for men and Michelle Warnky for women.

I totally agree with you on Isaac Caldiero, I was pretty bummed when he failed the double salmon ladder because I know he can crush stage 3.

David Campbell shall make his comeback! I dont think he will be the "Last Man Standing" but I hope so badly he has a good performance! It sucks seeing him fall so far short year after year. My predictions are that the Wolf Pack will ALL make it to stage 3. Kacy LEGIT won't make it back to Midoriyama (but she still will probably get a wild card) & hopefully Brent goes hard this year. Hmmm and because he is my favourite ninja im going to say Drew will be the Last Man Standing. (He will be the only person to make it to stage 4) |

If they go with an absurd and horrendously designed course like last year's then it's anyone's guess.
I think David Campbell has exceeded his quotient of first stage fails and will finally break out and make it the furthest.

I chose "Someone else" mainly because I doubt Kacy or Megan will get that far and the others can, like Isaac, Drew and Campbell, but, I just chose other because someone else could just do very well.

It's not that my butt hasn't been in gear (ok well maybe I kinda slipped outta gear mentally in Season 4 after arguing with the challenge producer immediately before my run)
I mean I've been killing the qualifyers and regional finals every year, and I'm so much stronger than I was in Season 3 (last time I got to Stage 3) plus the American UCH is a pale shadow of the difficulty of the Japanese version.
Yeah I've just had a bizarre string of bad luck in Stage 1 of finals. As jfeathe said, I think just statistically I should finally get though to stage 2 and further.
After everything I've been though with this show/competition my expectations for what to expect out of the finals course has been lowered, and I've just accepted that there will probably be a wonkey malfunctioning course, and I'll just have to do my best and accept that there are aspects of my "performance" outside of my control. I'm just gonna enjoy the ride this year and not take it so seriously, I'm guessing that will ironically help my performance lol!

Also Jessie Graff needs to be on this list for the women (maybe there should be a separate thread for furthest woman?) In season 5 she was the first woman to qualify for a regional final round, but was kept from season 6 due to injury/surgery.
