I only have a year to go for this. I can understand the age limit since so much happens in secret to make the show as it is now. I can wait another year. (before you ask I'm about to be 20) What was the excuse for when G4 had it? LOL They are literally the only ones that use the 21+. Everyone else around the world (including US shows) use 16 and under with a simple extra line on the contract to be signed by the guardian. Either way, they aren't hurting for competitors, especially with 40k people wanting to sign up.

Considering back in the ANC days they took their competitors to bars that's probably G4's reasoning (I mean yeah they could have skipped that but still )

LOL We can't forget the red light district and the "toy" shops they loved going to. Hell.. one of those made it as a AOTS special! LOL

Rider I expect to see you on top of the tower this time around, if not then a Ryoga Vee run in will sort of make up for it Hopefully Team SMF gets a couple of guys in the finals again this year (looking at you Drew in particular ) and it turns out to be a good season

So is there any way I can lie and say I'm 21? I mean how well do they check these things?

At ANW4 they did not check for IDs until the semis.
In ANW5 they were very strict about checking for IDs. Perhaps because of NBC's involvement.

Especially with friggin' 40k application sign ups (the email sign up before aps) I'm sure they will be even stricter.

I'm considering submitting an application once this semester is over in a few weeks, though I need to get back into shape. I'm not a freshman, but I've gained the 15 pounds which they associate with it. I've barely even been to the school gym over the past month (been busy/too lazy to walk across campus), so I definitely need to step up my game if I wish to have a chance at participating in ANW7.

Does anyone have a guesstimate when they will start "callbacks"? Of course I would think it's after the deadline for submissions, but I didn't know if anyone had past experiences of them calling you a few days after the deadline, or a month after. Just curious.

2-3 week before your course has its weekend run.
I think for season 5 it was 2 weeks - 1 week out, for last season it was 2-3 weeks. I knew 3 weeks out.

Wow! They must really not want to give you a huge heads up so you can't prepare as good haha

They've actually been getting better about it in recent years, last year being the most generous so far.

Wow I honestly expected them to at least start calling people a month or so early but wow now I wont feel as discouraged during january and february when I was originally expecting the call.

They've never given that much heads up in the past, presumably due to the sheer volume of applicants they receive. Casting favorites might get a call a little earlier than us normal folk, but it's not like 2+ weeks sooner. However, with the deadline being January 11th this year (kind of early) and the regionals being potentially held later in the year (possibly stretching into May-ish territory), this season of ANW could give us the biggest heads up so far.

Oti why do you keep saying they are running later this year? March - may was how it ran last year. Started the last week of March and ended the first week of May in Denver.
