Do you know how Miska got chosen? Only guessing but probably from TBS as a gimme from meeting the rest of the stars in Japan. They knew of him from the Youtube videos but he kinda got on their radar when he did well against the rest of the Shin Sedai at Shinya's backyard. At least he legit is from Finland. LOL I also stand corrected. You guys are correct and my brain substituted Kong/Ryo. My guess is Ryo from 30 replacing Kong on the lineup. A few reasons could be that Kong couldn't get off of work considering that he's the sole proprietor of his own company. A lot of decisions were made last year about the composition of the team based on who could travel. I'm only assuming that Ryo was added because he was free AND he did well in 30. My apologies on the mix up.

Are the competitors allowed to have test runs before the competition? If not, a big advantage for team America I suppose. If test runs are not allowed, at least Japanese & Euro teams should study the obstacles carefully, especially Silk Slider at 1st stage and Rope Jungle at 2nd stage. They are both tricky and need skills and strategies to attack. I forgot how many competitors from one team run each stage. Three? If not five, Shingo should avoid 1st stage in my opinion. He's not young any more, and I'm not comfortable watching him to do the Silk Slider. Not only it's very tricky for any competitors but he's prone to do a stupid mistake at dismount from air.

To my knowledge and I'll amend if I hear privately that this was incorrect. They were allowed 2 tries at an obstacle before the event started. Period.

Btw as an aside but worth noting the "Euro" team started with I think 10'ish guys all vying for the 5 spots and if I'm correct (we are ignoring the walk on that didn't have to qualify..), it was the same course (same rules only twice). When Japan came in they also did (also twice per obstacle). Think of it like gymnastics where they spot the obstacles only difference is they only did twice. Neither time they did a full run through. The Americans I believe because they ran it the night before didn't get this. I have to confirm that though. And btw this is only for the first 3 stages. No one touched the Final iirc prior to taping.

So Japan & Euro team each had one more practice runs than team America. Interesting.

Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Ah, ok. Interesting. It seems no such a big advantage on either side. Team Japan & Euro may have studied the obstacles more thoroughly than team America, but didn't have no visual image of the complete runs of the courses, and didn't have a clue about the time management of the courses either, especially at the 2nd stage.

I wonder how many people on this forum already know what's going to happen?

If you have a problem take it to that thread.

(and if this is too much for here then I'll edit if necessary) Not a mod or anything of course, and I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds, but just as my personal feeling I think it would be nice if you could edit it. I'm speaking as one who managed to avoid spoilers up until just a few hours before the broadcast, when I saw this post. I realize there's nothing explicit in the post, but stating one's feelings about spoilers can be a spoiler in itself.

So with poll locked or expired Japan is the favorite to win the question is why? Team Japan is identical from last year except that Yuuji has been replaced been replaced by the man that made it the farthest last year why? It's pretty clear from last year's special and previous Sasukes that despite the fact American competitors have always struggled in stage 3 they have always been faster in stage 1 and 2 and Team Americas reperstives this year can really go fast. I guess people are expecting the Japanese Team to do well in stage 3 however with Team America having two stage three stage specialists themselves the Americans have bridged the stage 3 gap. Team Europe seems to be the horse in the tournament I don't think beyond Tim Shiff people don't know about much about them but I can tell Team Europe has two professional rock climbers on their team including who includes Sean McColl a person that competes in many international rock climbing tournaments?
