In the interest in of having something to discuss before the next episode in two weeks and seeing that Kacy is the focus of that episode I decide to make a poll about if she becomes the first women in ANW to beat the first stage or somebody else will. Remember only one 1 women has completed the first stage of a Sauske competition in the 30 competitions so far. Also try to avoid sexist comments in this thread I want this to informative thread not a thread that gets locked because people can't control what they write.

I'm cynical. It's not that I don't think a woman has the physical capability because we've seen, this season, skill is at an all-time high regarding female competitors. My biggest concern is pacing. You can take your time in Regionals. You're under a stringent time limit in Nationals. I think it's obvious smaller competitors need a little more time to prep for obstacles. ANW competitors aren't aware of the time limit when on the course (at the very least in Japan, they have the timer at the end, even if it's not visible most of the time). Training for simply being able to do the obstacle isn't enough, you need to train to do them quickly. Won't happen this season, otherwise NBC wouldn't have shut up about it. Hope I'm wrong in the future seasons, though.

I find it weird saying this but I have a funny feeling Megan Martin will clear stage 1 before Kacy... she'll be back and I just can't see Kacy clear the jumping spider yet.

If Luci Romberg would come back...hands down she would be the favorite to do it. The Halfpipe is way easier than the one she failed in Sasuke 21 and the rest of the course isn't too challenging after that. It would just come down to the clock...

Jessie Graff. At least she can go at a decent speed, unlike Meagan and Kacy

Ditto on the Cynical. I think the format of the prelims/regionals doesn't help in the long run for anyone (not just women). If it were like that from the beginning your mindset would be the same to clear the stage at the allotted time. Also that doesn't help from a viewership point of view seeing people time out that otherwise "crushed" the prelims course. The expectations would be undoubtedly low. As for women, it's the same for Sasuke. Time is their enemy and only 1 woman has ever done it (in Sasuke) so far and that was a looooooong time ago and under a much shorter and arguably easier course. As it stands now, with the ramped up difficulty and length of the first stage, I'd be very very surprised to see any woman clear the first stage - on Sasuke or ANW.

Presently, they are not fast enough to complete the First Stage. I like their approach this year, however, which seems to be less focused on rushing to make the time and more focused on completing each obstacle. A good mentality would be to take this year to focus on clearing obstacles on the Vegas course, and then next year, approach them with the time goal in mind and the confidence that comes with having already cleared certain obstacles that are sure to return.

A lot of votes for being cynical also Michele has a lot of votes however of the three she is the least likely to finish stage one much less be the first mostly because she gassed out on the finals preventing her from even successful jumping to the ladder after the wall so clear endurance issue making it one thing to to lose because you mistimed a jump but another to lose because you lacked the energy to do it.

I don't think it was a lack of energy that caused Michelle to go out on the Salmon Ladder. It looked like she just didn't get enough bounce off of the trampoline. If she had slipped up on the actual bar, I could see your point, but she completely missed the bar altogether.

While Michelle is a good competitor she was clearly visible tired before attempting the salmon ladder she took over minute and with all trainer she puts in its clear she probably reached her the limit. Also keep in mined she is significantly older than Megan and Kacy.

She's really not that old, yet.
She did 11 laps at the World's Toughest Mudder last year, so I very, very seriously doubt she's hit her limit at the regular salmon ladder. She's also had no problem with the double salmon ladder at Shaun Summers' course (or the floating boards, the ultimate cliff hanger, etc.).

Kacy had the leg reach we found that out when she went full splits but her arms where two short the only way she stands a chance is she has to get super deep being only 5 feet.

Even if she got in really deep, it would be a stretch for her. She just doesn't have the reach to get a good grip on it. The only chance she would have is if if she went diagonal.
