ANW GODDESS!!!!!Kacy Catanzaro; Failed Jumping Spider And now, further thoughts on my part. For reference's sake, the exclamation marks are results that shocked me, and the WHY?!'s are digests that I thought didn't deserve to be digested.
First off, major props to nehcney. You looked like a freaking beast on that Jumping Spider!
Also on the positive, it was pretty cool to see Elet Hall get the top time. He didn't seem to rush. He just didn't waste any movements and moved naturally.
On the negative, I cannot BELIEVE that Matt Iseman referred to Kacy Catanzaro as a national hero. Maybe it's just an overblown reaction on my part, but to me, she is inspirational, sure, but a national hero? That is way too much, in my opinion.
Also, there is no excuse for digesting clears. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Non. Niet.
Do you know how did strong guys lose? Like David, Bull, Rahn, Jon Stewart. Many loses here made me feel so ridiculous. p/s I'm from Asian so I don't the oppurnity to watch full episode
Well the silk slider took out McGrath, Bull and Campbell the other two I do not remember which obstacle. The chances are they went out on the silk slider or jumping spider Then the spinning bridge was the third obstacle a lot of people went out on a few of the bigger names went out on the half pipe attack

Congrats Yen! Now we have 2(I think) SMFer's in stage two Ryan Stratis and Yen Chen. Also when I saw David fall I was literally in shock I was just staring at the tv (he's my favorite American) wondering why. Then I heard that none of the Venice people made it I was even more shocked. Kacy I wasn't too surprised, she did great in the semi-finals, but for some reason I thought she would fall there. Also I don't know WHY they keep digesting Paul he finished with over 30 seconds left is that not worthy of seeing. Lastly, I feel really bad for the people who got cut, they worked that hard to be there, and then don't get priority over people that fail the Giant Cycle and Silk Slider.

So... are we just going to overlook Brian destroying the integrity of the sport, or... That FIEND. Strategically taking advantage of one of the hundreds of design flaws in the ANW system. I can never look at him the same way again!

So... are we just going to overlook Brian destroying the integrity of the sport, or... I mean theoretically there was nothing wrong with what he did, wasn't exactly smart but wasn't as bad as some stuff. Like the gates opening after a time out...

I mean theoretically there was nothing wrong with what he did, wasn't exactly smart but wasn't as bad as some stuff. Like the gates opening after a time out... It's pretty smart. Yes, he doesn't get to see as many competitors run Stage 2 before he does as he would have, but that's what testers are for. Instead he (considering if he passes Stage 2) gets a longer period to rest before Stage 3. ANW should have a definite run order for all competitors like Sasuke, but they don't so why not make the most of it.

Wait, I'm missing something (or maybe I just can't remember). What does how fast Brian finished have to do with when he runs the next stages?

Thanks everyone!!!! Yes I have to admit that the lack of a time limit from regionals may have got me used to a slower pace. I was totally taken by surprise when they started counting down, if I hadn't gotten the warped wall on my first try I would have timed out for sure. As for Venice having 0 clears, that was the biggest bummer of the season. I believe that the landing pad on the curtain slider had different conditions for different people, and as luck would have it they ran all the big Venice competitors back-to-back at a time when the landing pad had an unfavorable condition.

idk but the OTHER Godfather did better than Campbell! Gah! DAVID That stupid silk slider! The silk slider and the spider jump combined to take out some where in the neighborhood of 70% of the contestant that was crazy note to ANW please rid of the silk slider plz thanks.

Did anyone notice how at least one of the competitors (not sure who -- I think they aired a couple people before David) totally got his foot wet when on the Silk Slider landing pad and was allowed to move on, while others were failed for doing seemingly the exact same thing? Iseman even clearly acknowledged it too. It wouldn't be the first time NBC has changed a rule mid-competition, but this one especially hurts me considering the caliber of competitors who failed there.

Did anyone notice during Kacy's interview with Jenn, there was a guy behind Brent wearing a sports bra?

So... are we just going to overlook Brian destroying the integrity of the sport, or... Quoted for truth. I admit, last season, I really, really liked Brian Arnold. I liked how under the radar he was and thought with his humility, he'd fit right in to SASUKE as a respected and well-liked competitor. Every episode of this season, I find myself liking him less and less. Personally, I don't care what the rules are, and I don't care that they're different than SASUKE's rules. Putting comparisons between the two competitions aside, I felt his behavior was pretty tasteless. He put up a great show during his run, but I think he really soiled his reputation in those last seconds, because it smacked of 'made for TV' drama. He's really not all that different from the other competitors on this show who tear their shirt off after clearing the first round of qualifying. Don't chalk this up to 'american' culture, either, this is all on him. It's this stuff that makes it feel like this show is about being on TV, not about clearing the toughest obstacle course in the world. And for a sport, it's inexcusable. It makes me not want to compete on this show. If I were an elite marathon runner, and it was clear that I was going to win a National Championship by a huge margin, how would you think of me as a sportsman if I decided that I wanted to make the race more exciting by stopping to flex and pose for photos until I saw the second place guy coming close, before I crossed the finish line? I don't think you would feel very highly of me. Good for him that he cleared, but he is not going to get any sportsmanship awards. I look forward to the demise of the wolf pack next week (I don't know the results, but I would like to see the course win this year).

So... are we just going to overlook Brian destroying the integrity of the sport, or... He's not even the first person to do that. Noah Kaufman and his showboating at the end of the qualifying round for the same reason would get that honor. And "destroying the integrity of the sport" is a bit overkill, in my opinion. More like "taking advantage of a loophole".

Yeah I'm surprised Kasemir got digested AGAIN! Is he the new Nagasaki all of a sudden? Ah whatever. also Brian doing that, what were the OTHERS thinking?! I muted it and looked away so idk what the announcers thought! XD I think it's clear that he pissed off someone, somehow, because they've all but cut him out of the show this year. We need to get to the bottom of this.

I am glad to see the wolf pack doing so well, I have high hopes for that group. Does anybody know what happened with Geoff Britten and Evan Dollard? I didn't notice either one of them on stage 1. For anyone else who was wondering, Geoff went out on the Jumping Spider.

His foot allegedly hit the water in Denver Qualifying at the end of the Devil Steps. If true, he deserves to be ff'd the whole season. If that was the case, then they should have re-recorded commentary for the first digest to indicate that, and then cut out his clips for the rest of the season. (You know, instead of acting like everything is a-ok and digesting all of his runs)
