But in all seriousness, I get a small feeling that Shingo will be in the 90s if not 100 as most consistent All-star. Honestly, I don't think he will, reason being, He does not want to be a high number

Now the question is what would be most pressuring? #1 or 100? Since I'm sure he's actually getting 100. 1 without a doubt. On top of that you don't get the benefit of seeing someone clear it or seeing how they failed. You are also pressured to make sure you clear to set the pace for the rest of the tournament. Maybe that's why we usually see comedians first... They'll no doubt fail but help the others somehow as to how to clear obstacles they may actually clear if they're lucky... Though 100 isn't away from pressure either. Everyone EXPECTS you to do well since the whole show thinks this guy is the one to watch out for. Not many 100's do all that well as of lately though... Final stage if lucky. Good luck Ryo.

Actually that's a bit incorrect. Kanno was a prime example of the the importance of #1. #1 and #100 are important and ultimately are the most pressure numbers. They set the tone for the event. While we don't always get stars, we do get someone that has significance whether by circumstance or luck, however we don't get paid comedians ever start an event. In the past they have had stars (like Akiyama at one point) to start the event) and paid guests like Naito. That selection is not a random selection and it is usually shown (with rare exceptions).

Ok you're right on that point. So this begs to be asked... who will be #1 this time? I mean 100 I think we got ideas

Hey arsenette, who is ur favriote new star? Mine is Kanno. But im just curios to hear ur opinion. Hmm.. the new stars? I've always been partial to Morimoto and Kawaguchi for a long time. I blame that in the years of blogging about them from their start. They've also been very supportive of my blogging career so the biases get stronger. Earlier this year I managed interviews with them and they were soooo open to doing that. I hadn't done Japanese interviews before and they were more than happy to be guinea pigs. (I can add Tada there but most people don't know him well enough. I hope he's competing in 32 if it ever happens. Keeping fingers crossed). I have a deeper appreciation for them. They are wonderful men and generous with their time and affection. Doesn't hurt that they have been doing well of late and people know them for their recent results rather than my ramblings of technicolor shorts and Nagano doppelganger. LOL Meeting them in person was better than I expected and I'm MORE biased based on that. Ryo sadly is falling out of favor as he's become a bit on the arrogant side. You know my disdain for cockiness and he's sadly in that phase. Hopefully it's a phase he grows out of quickly. Yuuji has grown out of his phase and I love him again. He's actively now trying to fix his image now that he realized that he was being outwardly melancholy and depressed (with his recent results). Some people (like myself) don't care about that and just want to know WHO he is as a person rather than "zomg 2-Time champion zomg". He's really opened up of late and I hope he continues well in his journey of reinventing himself as a more outgoing human being and embrace his past glory and new persona. Yuuji has had to learn that the hard way where Nagano knew that naturally. Yuuji now was an absolute joy to hang around with and I'm told that he wasn't always this way. So, it was nice to talk to him and see him interact with people. Ryo sadly is not there yet and I'm hoping Yuuji gets him out of that phase since he's his closest friend in the world. Luckily Ryo is still young and could learn quickly. I hope. Kanno was nice but I didn't get to know him better. I swear he was in the opposite end of where I was. LOL. I chat more with him on Twitter than anything else. His wife is super sweet and very friendly towards people. Asa is amazing but still pretty awkward around people. His girlfriend was super nice. I didn't get to spend time with them but everyone was talking about how open and friendly Asa and his girlfriend were this year. I'm spoiled by knowing them now. I admit that. That's the synopsis of the New generation. I can go on forever but that's about as short as I can keep it. LOL P.S. Totally forgot about Hioki. OMG HE'S HYPER. I needed a vacation from him blazing energy! LOL I don't know how he functions always been that hyper. LOL He's an absolute joy to be around and EXTREMELY friendly. I hope his career gets bigger so more people can meet him. He's awesome and his family is sooooo friendly!
