Post-1st-stage-run interview of Bunpei Shiratori
Interviewer: How's your knees and lower back / hips?
Shiratori: Well, I didn't feel any discomfort while I was running the course.
Interviewer: How about the next one (Sasuke)?
Shiratori: Well… Let me see...
Interviewer: You mentioned that you will take responsibility... (and will decide to retire officially?)
Shiratori: Yes, but after I've done it, well, as long as I could still run...mmmm
End of the interview

Shingo Yamamoto Before 2nd stage run
Nagano: Don't follow (Takeda who has failed at the Salmon Ladder).
Takeda: Don't follow me. (Don't make a same mistake like me).
Yamatomo: Don't Worry. (Could't hear the words he said exactly)
Voice-over, Narration
Auto repair & tunig shop, MoMo Auto Tuning, the manager of the garage, Shingo Yamamoto, 39 years old. His valiant effort at Sasuke is witten on the flyer of his auto shop. He also supervises four gasoline stands. He's been indeed climbing the social ladder through Sasuke. He was chosen as a captain for Asean Open Cup 2014, and he contributed for the team to win the silver medal.
Yamamoto: I was able to have an extraordinary life through Susuke...(grateful for Sasuke in that regard)
Voice-over: 30th Sasuke (for him). Can he get past the 2nd stage?
Yamamoto at Backstream
Yamamoto: Dameda (No way)
Matachi: Nandayo (What the hell)
Nagano: Ah, out of breath.
Eiko (or Hanako?)(his wife): What's up? Shinchan ike! (Shin-chan, keep going)
Yamamoto: I'm out of breath.
Nagono: Too hard to breath, that's how tough it is for us. (talking to Kong)
Eiko: I wonder if he's swallowed warter. Why didn't he keep going even if he'd swallowed water. (laugh after she says)
Yamamoto: At the moment in the warter, already laboring, when the stream warter hit my face, I might be going to besuffocated, that went though my head for a moment.

Thanks so much for these translations. It's fun to watch these guys, even if we don't know what they're saying. But it's also cool when we can get a translation of the comments and conversations that take place. Btw, when you translated Ryo's comment, was that a literal translation, or a figure of speech?

Yamamoto-san... was he always afraid of water too or was it just because the stream of water hit his face?

Shingo is certainly not afraid of water. He's a surfer! The force of the water jet might have startled him, causing him to inhale suddenly.

Is there any incorrect sentences or phrases, any awkwardness, anything hard to understand in the shingo's translation? I was thinking about the last phrase "I was scared of being choked." Wait. Let me do a minor correction for the last phrase. Actually he didn't say "scared." He said, "went through my head for a moment."
Correction: From "I was scared of being choked."
To "I might be going to be suffocated, that went though my head for a moment."
Does it sound OK? Grammatically correct?

But it's also cool when we can get a translation of the comments and conversations that take place. Btw, when you translated Ryo's comment, was that a literal translation, or a figure of speech? You mean " Nandayo (What the hell)" There might be better words to put into, such as "Come on," "Oh, man," ... well "What the heck" is same In any case, Matachi used that word with the feeling of disappointment. The competitors there are comrades and survivors each other, they have natural bonding. Also they are sort of warriors. They are at the battleground. And Matachi's turn was coming up shortly. So it's natural younger guys like Matachi not using polite language at that situation. He was already in the battle mode.

Yamamoto-san... was he always afraid of water too or was it just because the stream of water hit his face? I think that he was just gassed there, then the stream hit his face. So he was sort of panicked for a second, I suspect. That was it.

English-speakers regularly will use incorrect grammar and syntax without realising or sometimes even just too lazy to correct it. Don't worry about it too much. Everything your translating is very clear & your doing an awesome job! Thanks for taking your time to do this for us.
