Paul's run was digested. PAUL's run was digested. Really the only big name veteran competitor in that region who also just happened to post a very fast time. They didn't mention his name in any preview or feature him on a 'coming up' during the broadcast. They were actively avoiding showing or bringing attention to him. And the testimonies come from people who were actually there and saw what happened. Just saying. NBC succeeded in their effort to keep the whole thing quiet.
To make myself clear: I am actually really enjoying this season as a whole and I am a big fan of Paul (met him, great guy), but I thought this was in rather poor taste. Not that is was necessarily his call ala what happened a couple of seasons ago, but just grimy on part of the show especially when they went out of their way to show another contestant get disqualified for the most ridiculous reason.

It is hard to say for sure what happened with Paul, but I can say that the wet mark on the wall means nothing. During my run I had to step around a huge puddle that was just after the devil steps on the ramp headed down to the warped wall. He could have easily stepped in it right before hitting the warped wall. Don't forget it rained/snowed so anything that has to do with water marks or wet clothing is inconclusive.

I'm not commenting on it because I didn't see it. We've already had situations where someone posted info about Vegas and it was quickly shut down (which, could be possibly be in reaction to it being posted already, although there is insistence it is false info). Same with Brent a couple years ago: if true, it's messed up that's the case and is further justification to always look at ANW with an extremely close magnifying glass.
Regardless, I'm not going to demonize the contestants over it. If I don't get stopped by the judge, I'm going to complete the course. Also keep in mind (playing more Devil's Advocate here) that Strat was digested and he's, I'd say, on the same level of Paul in terms of big name vets. Sure, no damning testimony came from his run, but a big name competitor has been digested before in this season alone. As far as we know, as viewers who were not there or do not have sources they trust, he was digested because it was a run of the mill run that did not affect who was the fastest run of the night after all the runs have been shown.
Flip, Kasemir and Steffensen going out in qualifying? One out affects future ratings, two out even more. All three? People are definitely casual enough to tune out because a favorite isn't moving on; Sasuke has that same problem. Think of the number of people who will tune out as soon as Nagano fails. Some people on this forum would do so, so I know people in Japan will. Unfortunately for us, NBC isn't afraid to do something about it that potentially affects the spirit of the competition.

Not to mention the fact that it's not the first time they've put focus on a contestant, and then digested them. *cough*Chris Wilzcewski*cough*. Also, they gave just as much focus to Isaac Caldiero through the episode as Paul Kasemir, what with showing him training and showing him rooting on his girlfriend, and he still got digested. Just the fact that they digested Paul Kasemir is not proof that there is something awry.

Yeah I'm not buying this he-was-digested-so-that-right-there-alone-is-proof crap. That's NOT proof positive, we've seen plenty of known people and previous competitors who were digested unexpectedly (to us at least), and in Miami when faced with the dilemma of having more clears than time, to me at least they seemed to focus more on the lesser-known people other than Joyce/Flip/Drew. Until we get a first-person account from someone who was THERE, I am not buying this conjecture at all.

No one is saying his run being digested is proof that his foot touched the water. People are saying that it's a reason why his run was digested.

I think they are just going to show Paul's run in the finals so they are saving him..... maybe.....? Who knows.

I don't see a difference in those two statements. The proof is that his foot was wet and spectators testified that he touched the water. Him being digested was not proof alone, but reasonable on the part of NBC for covering up what they wanted to conveniently, and I'd say they succeeded.

They finally posted my run on youtube!
So funny because they mention that I lost 20 pounds since last year a few separate times. They make it sound like I was overweight. Let me just clarify... it was 20 pounds of pure muscle! I figured out the hard way that being stacked was the complete wrong build for ninja warrior so I trimmed up the bulky muscle and increased my strength to weight ratio.
