Disappointed with the amount of cut clears...... I'm not. With 42 total clears, the only way they could have shown every single person who cleared, even with digests, would have been to ignore the people who didn't clear. Which would have left out/digested, among others, Joyce Shaboz and Flip. That would have been far more frustrating to me than the 3 digests they I disagreed with.

I agree with Bob in this situation, they should have had some more clear FFs but considering they were dealing with 42 clears they didn't have much choice, but I wasn't there so I don't know how badly they messed things up, I've been liking this season except for the St Louis episode where they cut so many deserving people including Midoriyama veterans...

it’s got progressively easier since the season started. Monkey peg < ring toss < tilting bars < curtain slider But in those select few frames (David Campbell & few others have done it) when the athlete walks away from the warped wall you can see the finals course in the background, they look super intense!!!! And on the preview for Denver that new nun chuck looking obstacle looked harder than any obstacle so far. I missed the Chuck obstacle on the preview is it the flying Nun chuck or something different this time

As much as I agree that with 42 clears, it's inevitable to cut/digest clears, and that you have to show the people you promote while showcasing newer talent, I disagree with NBC's notion that Strat isn't as important as Joyce or Flip. Joyce and Flip were being shown regardless as one is the top woman in that city while the other is one of the city's most known competitors, arguably the most known. So how do you not fit Strat? Yeah, Strat messed up the Jumping Spider (which I maintain had the worst run-up ever) in Vegas, but so did Flip, so "he did x in Vegas" logic doesn't work here (nor do I think it's valid logic). I just would rather see a successful vet clear, than a good story fail. Don't get me started on Sims getting the Laessig treatment.

You grab onto one pair, swing, jump to the next pair, then jump to the cargo net. Then go under, slip, and touch the water before you could possibly recover because the NET IS TOO LOW! Sorry, still annoyed about that.

Those were two of the three people I complained about getting digests. To me, if you competed in Vegas, you earned the right to be shown. As for Sims, he's one of the first American Ninja Challengers (runner-up in ANC1, with the winner being Colin Bell), so he helped paved the way for Levi Meeuwenberg, Flip, and the competition as we know it. He deserves the respect of a full run edit. I also didn't like Sean Morris getting digested, as he was also a finalist in ANW5, but it was not as bad as Strat getting a digest, as Morris was only in the finals as a wildcard, and failed stage 1.

No worries bob I found it easier to go to the formating first.. copy THAT and then on the next message copy and paste that into the format section. Otherwise you get some weird block issues. Also reading this.. I'm so glad I don't watch NBC.. LOL I feel bad for the competitors who have to put up with this crap.

There’s a reason why Team USA put Team Japan to bed last year. Devils stairs and a nun chuck obstacle in the same course? who thinks these courses are fair? thats the equivalent of a low net for me. so ridiculous and it cant happen!!!!!

I feel bad they don't get their just due.. how the hell did that turn negative?

Oh come on dlee/everyone, just focus on your own reaction toward the show. Why does Arsenette's opinion on the show matter more than any one of ours? She actually has no opinion on the show because she does not watch it anymore. Leave her alone. I cannot believe that I actually have to take time to type this out. Is this crap really what we want people to see when they visit this board? This irrelevant segue in finger-pointing is pervading almost every single relevant thread on this board, it is so annoying. I don't care who knows what behind the scenes information. As someone who actually works in Film/TV, I really could not care less about who has a beef with what and who is protesting what, I just want to be able to openly discuss the show without it turning into an inappropriately open discussion about other members that could easily be taken to PM's. There is a more mature way of going about this if you have an issue with another person's comments. I apologize for what might seem like a pre-emptive intervention, but I wanted in before this thread gets derailed. Like all of the others. For those so inclined to continue participating in this childish garbage, just know that you contribute to giving this board a bad reputation as a bunch of maniacs, and not in the good way.

The Low net was crazy and making them go under instead of having the under or over options like they have done in years past. Then again they had the easiest 5th obstacle in the Curtain slide I like the obstacle but like I said before as the 5th one it was a joke compared to the other regionals.

I only point out how i feel when Arsenette points out that she hates NBC (which is every thread) and dude i wasnt even being negative. i never said you hated anyone or anything of that nature. you just said your glad about it. thats crazy. i repect that your standing up for what you believe but your missing out on something really amazing. i wasnt attacking you. merely pointing out the feelings of many. and since dudesky bought it up. why r u posting in this thread if u dont watch? Seeing Arsenette comments on everything about ANW its apparent she does have a opinion! and how about taking your own advice and not caring about my opinion? I couldnt care less who knows behind the scenes things. and to be honest i dont (and noone else does either) need you to police my posts or what i say. who are you to shut down a discussion? and after 2 years of pretty much no activity on the forum im just glad people are coming here (to this INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD) and so should you!!!!

I write up every discussion thread for the benefit of those watching. Many ANW competitors are also SMF competitors. I support THEM that way. I've been doing THIS for years as part of being part of the community. I also monitor and update the ratings thread that was popular for 3 years in a row. Bob asked about a formatting issue, no one had commented on it so I decided to comment on it as I read the thread to see if there are any upcoming changes to the NBC threads I put up every single week (like last week this was supposed to have been preempted). I commented that since I started the thread and read 3 pages of "holy crap I hate NBC" posts and wtf is wrong with the rules I chimed in saying why I don't watch this effing show. It's a targeted attack when you skipped 4 PAGES of conversations just to write about my one line in response to someone else. How the hell am I supposed to take that? It's almost a sport to jump on every single comment I make?

This is why I generally limit my contribution to topics to be results postings and a FEW thoughts on the episode. This is supposed to be a show to watch for fun, aye? It's a competition, sure, but it doesn't need to be taken so personally.
Arsenette has her own opinion on ANW. For what's it's worth, I don't completely agree with her on it, otherwise I wouldn't watch it to post results. But I don't hold any differences in opinions that I may have with her against her. We are all fans of the same show, right? I hate seeing fans attack other fans for not having the same feelings on something, and that is happening way too much on here. I may not be a mod, and I'm not nearly as important to this board as some people. Hell, I've never run the course, and probably never will because I'm just not in that great of shape.
Does that make me a lesser fan? I don't think so. Does liking both Sasuke and ANW make me a bad fan? I hope to hell not. Does disliking ANW's production make Arsenette a worse fan than me? No. If we all enjoy the same competition, who are we to knock other fans for not enjoying it the right way?
I apologize for my rant and ramble, and if I'm going to take a hit on my record for derailing this topic even further, then so be it. I just wanted to say that I'm tired of seeing all this bickering between fans of the same show because they enjoy different aspects of it. Now, can we get back to discussing THE SHOW?

Anyone else think that maybe Flip finally understands the fact that finishing at all is more important than finishing first? I felt sorry for the guy, but these competitors trying to outdo each other in time was kind of making me facepalm a little bit. You rush, you make silly mistakes, simple as that. I think he and Drew lucked out last season when they did this, but this year Flip's luck finally ran out and he has no one to blame but himself. Poor guy.
However, I do expect that he will be a recipient of a "random" wild card spot for the finals, so we'll see.

In a way I can understand why people want to go for the fastest time, $2500 is pretty worth it

Has this always been like that? Am I going crazy? Starting in ANW 4 if you had the fastest time in the qualifying you get $2500 and if you get the fastest in the city finals you get $5000. Not sure if that's still in effect though.
