Haha! I once climbed a pipe all the way up to the rafters in Dick's sporting goods. Something like 30 feet up lol! Nobody said anything, they just watch lol.

I just bought a pair of MR10s, luckily in the store they had a little plywood rock wall to test out the shoes on! After climbing a few things in the house, I've found they have amazing grip compared to my old shoes, but I still find that on the floating boards barefoot is more grippy than with the shoes on (although it may just be technique, doing it barefoot I always use my heel to the board more as it has more surface area and gets less sweaty, however most of the grip on the shoes is at the front, so I'll keep trying them).

V2 I'm pretty sure, it didn't actually say anywhere in the store the version it was I don't think.

Probably v2. Let me know how you like them. I have not had any experience with the v2.

Pretty cool to see you've been testing a lot of the shoes out and everything. One suggestion to look into as a possibility is the Adidas Boost/Energy Boost where it's lightweight and appears to have a decent grip/traction on it.

One suggestion to look into as a possibility is the Adidas Boost/Energy Boost where it's lightweight and appears to have a decent grip/traction on it. Speaking on the Pure Boost CASUAL shoe. Havent tried the energy boost or energy boost 2 yet. Super flexible, super comfortable, boost foam is probably the best cushioning system (for me purely coz of the comfort) in running shoes to date. It would be my choice if you were hitting the course in a specific running shoe. But when you start talking about "running" shoes, at this end of shoe spectrum a lot of things become athlete specific/preference due to all the different materials, tech and fits of shoes. (ie Nike free, fkyknit, lunar, racer, roshe run, OG, Air max (IMO Dont wear a shoe with an air max unit! You dont want a massive outsole when there's any chance you will have to land incorrectly) Pure Boost, Energy Boost, Adios, Adizero, Supernova, and this is just off the top Nike & Adidas) Theres too many! Just ask my bank balance!

I will have to add the Boost to my future test list. Though I don't have it in the video I am absolutely in love with the v1 mr10's right now. I don't really like the way they fit me, but the grip is insane.
PS. I have over 30 pairs of shoes, all of the athletic variety, so I feel your pain when it comes to the cost factor! It is a little embarrassing to have more shoes then my wife!

Nice review! I love the NB MR00 and MR10's, have both. Prefer the MR00's though. The KO gen2's are super comfy, and have great grip. I wish i had worn them this year for a certain obstacle.. too bad!
The next shoe im looking at trying is the OllOpk. Bunch of guys in vegas wore them and they looked great, love the tread on the bottom. That or the Ariake.!

Just got a pair of MR00s. They feel great and stick very well. I'll be using them at the CCNWTC summer invite.

Ollo Sapiens have sweet traction and they were great for rail balance. BUT they were so damn uncomfortable for me. Still got two pairs however coz they were very durable and great for fr/parkour.
I also wanna pair of KO Gen 2 & 3Run 720 Vaults.

Well, after about a month of using the MR10s about twice a week for parkour, they've already ripped. Luckily, there was a warranty on them so I can get another pair.
Another thing I might try is putting curling grips on my old runners for better traction (the grips they use in the sport of curling for on the ice). My grandparents curl, so next time I see them I'll ask about getting some, and if it works really well I can shoe-goo them on so they don't ever slip off.

Not sure that's exactly legal... they check your hands and shoes for any additional grip aids, I recommend just finding shoes that help from the start...
On a related note, is there any update on the best or are the ones that won in the video still the champions? And how do they do when wet? ANW isn't the dryest place with all yhe splashes, and rain, and even some snow...

That's strange, I can understand checking hands for grip aids but shoes, what's the difference between an expensive super-grippy shoe and and cheap shoe with grip added on with the exact same grip level as the expensive shoe? ANW should just bring in chalk/sticky spray, especially considering its record for wet/dusty conditions.
On a related note, would that mean it would be illigal to fill one's poctets with chalk before a run in ANW?

Way illeagle Matt. Insta DQ if you have anything on your hands. They dont want to change the look of the course.
The MR10 V2 SUCK. No one should ever waste their money on them.
After a lot more testing im leaning towards the tempest as the best shoe i have. Still need to try the Ollo and a pair of ariakes. Maybe tigers as well.

The MR10 V1 are the bomb, but apparently the V2's suck. As for the grip aid on the shoes you may be able to get away with it if it isn't painfully obvious. They were certainly more concerned about the hands. I you have anything on your hands they will DQ you without hesitation. Chalk would be super easy to spot as well.
I need to try the tempest and Ollo shoes, but the Ariakes are awesome and the tigers are meh...
The MR10's V1 are my top pick. They are simply ridiculous. I can go back and fourth across my floating doors TWICE simply due to the grip on these beasts. The Ariake is a solid second though, and they are more comfortable. I did test them both wet as well as dusty and they both did okay, with the MR10's performing slightly better then the ariakes. Fully drenched the ariakes lose all grip, but as long as they are at least wiped down they are fine.

Geoff, when you refer to the tempest shoe as the best you have, are you refering to the NLS-1, because I'm considering getting a pair. How good is the grip?

Anybody, Do the NB MR10 V1 run true to size? Please the auction ends in 10 hours Mattskills, yeah its the NLS-1. Grip is really good but burns down quicker than most other shoes IMO (which sucks, legit on my 4th pair, i cant walk away from the comfort). Generally its not a very durable shoe but still great.

They seem to run true too size. They fit exactly like my Nikes and my Ariakes. Unless all of my shoes don't run true to size the mr10 v1's are spot on.
