If I had to guess..... Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Morimoto, Ryo, Brian Arnold and one of the world champ rock climbers cleared stage 3. Just wanted to guess before I saw it. If anyone is gonna make it back to the finals... Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler It's going to be Ryo and Shingo... At least that's what I hope for. Just my guesses.

If at all possible try to keep speculation out of the thread as it derails conversations (especially in the absence of the full results) Trying to find photos on Twitter. If anyone finds any please post the photo AND the location (so we know who's copyright it is). Note: Since Finals and the Special happened so short behind each other there might be some overlap on photos. Obvious ones I'll post on each but I'll do what I can to get the right ones in each thread. Instagram

Spoiler Miska failed the Warped Wall, and didn't get to run Stage 3 for some reason :/ SpoilerMaybe Miska really did run stage three, but he just swung and flew across from one side to the other and it just looked like he didn't run the stage.

Okay.. got the full report. Because this is from multiple anonymous sources some information may conflict or be slightly out of order. If you know the results and need me to fix something please PM me and report the discrepancy. I just want to get the correct information out but keep the sources confidential. NBC's NDA is no joke so I have no interest in compromising that. All in all there's a huge level of bulls**t going on in the background (NBC is par for the course on that) so it was difficult trying to keep emotions check when coming up with an overall report. SPOILERS below.. (sorry trying to edit and it kept changing the font so I had to manually do links as well) Team USA: Joe Morofski, Paul Kasemir, Elet Hall, Travis Rosen and Brian Arnold Team Japan: (we knew this already), Shingo Yamamoto, Ryo Matachi, Kazuma Asa, Hitoshi Kanno and Yuusuke Morimoto Team Europe: I'm personally more upset about this since NBC invited Americans to this (including those who ran ANW before as Americans.. which I thought was supposed to disqualify them.. but whatever) and just slapped on some pseudo title for them (or worse changed their country origin to fit the bill). It was also supposed to be a "world" team so certain other guys were left off the team because NBC arbitrarily decided to want the "Euro" flag and they were, of course not from Europe so they were left out (There were 9 total that flew to Vegas and 5 where chosen. Plenty of conjecture on how they manage to "chose" the "Euro" Team (Edit forgot to put the other 4 countries left out - Barbados, Netherlands, New Zealand (USA)/ Israel (USA)). IMO it would have been better if they just had that up front instead of wasting people's time. Seems this was a heavy topic of discussion for a few days. I guess the only bonus is that they all got a paid vacation in Vegas out of this even if they already knew who was going to be on the team even before they left. /facepalm Final Team EU: Tim Schieff (UK), Miska Sutela (FIN), Some guy that apparently is Ukrainian descent but is American. The people who relayed the story had no idea wtf his name was and didn't want to find out they were so angry he was on the team at all as he didn't participate at all in the "trials" the 2 days prior to the event. He just showed up as part of the team on Sunday and no one knew how the hell he got there. Apparently he competed twice in ANW so someone who isn't as angry might know his name. So yeah UKR), Then 2 professional rock climb champions who never have seen the show (any of them.. ANW or Sasuke) but were paid to show up for some reason. Stefano (not sure of last name though by doing quick google I think it's this guy - Stefano Ghisolfi (might have to change that if I get more information) and Sean (also no last name but by the stories I can surmise it's this guy Sean McColl (who is Canadian but they called him French since he's currently training in France even though he was born/bred Canadian and competes as Canada.. but you know.. you can't have a Canadian on the Euro team. So yeah he's listed as France) So yeah we haven't even started the event and the level of bulls**t is pretty thick. The other was the obstacles this year for the World event was supposed to be scaled to Sasuke size.. yeah.. that didn't happen. And the rules apparently didn't apply evenly (though I'm not surprised by that in the least). So yeah par for the course NBC. Stage 1 (not entirely sure of order) USA - Joe (Cleared) Paul (Cleared) Elet - 3rd obstacle Curtain Glider? EU: Tim (Cleared), UKR guy (Cleared), Miska (Warped Wall) (as a result Miska who is a stage 3 powerhouse was benched by his "teammates") JPN: Shingo (Jumping Spider), Asa (JS), Kanno (WW) USA Wins stage because USA match ups / faster time cleared was awarded the points (I wish this wasn't back but yes that stupid rule is back /facepalm): So USA (2) / EU (1) / JPN (0) Stage 2 (not sure of order) USA: Elet (Cleared), Travis (Cleared), Arnold (Cleared) EU: Sean (Cleared), Schieff (Metal Spin), Stefano (Double Salmon Ladder) JPN: Ryo (Rope Maze - 1st obstacle), Kanno (Rope Maze), Morimoto (Butterfly Wall) (Seems everyone was in agreement that the obstacles were too big for them as they all failed from reach issues) USA Wins Stage hands down. So USA (4), EU (2), JPN (0) awarded points for a total of USA (6) EU (3) and JPN (0) Stage 3 USA: Arnold (Clear), Morofski (Hang/Ascending Climb - rock climbing for those who didn't remember the ANW name of the obstacle), Paul (Cannonball Alley - more on the bulls**t of that obstacle in a minute). EU: Stefano Clears, Sean (Flying bar) (Funny story - people thought he got cocky by this point and failed because of it. LOL), UKR guy (Ascending Climb) JPN: Asa (Cannonball Alley) *seems the rules changed depending on who was on it. Rules were you were supposed to touch ALL of the balls but some who cleared the obstacle clearly skipped before. Apparently Asa who also decided to try to skip one was given a tech failure. Needless to say he broke down in tears when disqualified for doing something others before him did. I suspect I'll be throwing things all over the room when I blog about this next year). Morimoto (Cleared) Ryo (Cleared) Match ups: Joe/UKR/Asa (UKR wins since he beat Joe to the Ascend Climb) Paul/Stefano/Morimoto (EU wins since Stefano was faster than Morimoto to clear the stage) Ryo/Sean/Arnold (USA wins since Arnold barely beat Ryo (in fact people said it was so close they thought Ryo won). The margin of victory was 0.3 seconds EU wins the stage. (everyone at this point is shaking their head going wtf is going on) So USA (3) EU (6) JPN (0) for updated USA (9) EU (9) JPN (0) Final Stage just USA and EU USA: Rosen EU: Sean CANADA wins... er.. hang on.. FRA so EU.. yeah World .. no wait.. Europe wins.. sorta.. LOL I'm glad this is going to be aired later in the year instead of now.. hopefully my furor can die down by then... wait.. eveyrone knows I'm going to lose my s*** when this airs. ESPECIALLY if/when they reorder this..

Spoiler so wait how many times did Yamamoto even do ANYTHING?! Poor Shingo... Just once. The match up rules are identical to last year. Best of 5 per stage and scored each round (match ups) so this year it was only 3 rounds per stage since the results were decided by the end of the 3rd match up. I personally despise this scoring. I prefer the gymnastics rules were you get all 5 people run and take top 3 results. Period. But NBC doesn't like that rule.

For future reference, it's easier to just manually type in *spoiler*[/spoiler] because the font color is screwy on the other board skins. (Obviously replacing ** with []) "He failed Stage 1 so he doesn't get to try his specialty stage" has to be the dumbest logic I've heard about. It seems like the competitors were openly critical, or is it more of a silent shaming? They can't do anything about it, but did they at least mention how dumb everything was? Because the lack of scaling for obstacles is something ANW has always had a problem with and the fact that it's bitten them multiple times yet nothing is done is just astounding. Never mind competitor decisions and the terrible format.

K going to try to fix it. Gimme a sec. Hope I don't screw it up. LOL (Yay it worked!)
As for your question. I'm not sure but from what I heard it was a topic of conversation. Unsure how loud it was. It seemed loud to me but obviously I wasn't there. Needless to say though, that was part of every single report I got back.. so it was unanimous even among people who aren't connected to each other.

Even if NBC didn't use the scoring system they all would have done the same thing. The only difference with the Gymnastics best of 5 is that ALL 5 compete and take the top 3 (meaning you would have seen everyone (not just Shingo) run all the stages but NBC chose the elimination per round style which most people detest on principle.

Well last year didn't they botch the ordering to let America win? Wouldn't be surprised if they do it again and let America win.

Well last year didn't they botch the ordering to let America win? Wouldn't be surprised if Spoiler they do it again and let America win. Some conjecture on that last grouping's timer. Spoiler Some thought Ryo won that pairing. IF he did win the pairing it would have changed the 2nd place points for the 3rd stage which would not have resulted in a Final. We probably will never know because we know NBC will edit it to make sure the accepted on the field ruling "that Ryo was slower than Arnold" even if the timer was either identical or Ryo ahead. I think if it wasn't that USA would not have gotten those points to tie going into the 4th I doubt there would have been a bigger uproar. I don't like the timer as it is.. this doesn't help. I just feel bad for everyone dealing with this at all. So EU would have still won.. only difference would have been that we would have never seen a Final. Given NBC's past history.. I wouldn't put it past them to have miscounted either an identical time or put the 0.3 behind. Again, we'll never know.
Between the carpetbagging and then the arbitrary rule enforcements I have a sour taste in my mouth. re: Arsenette Spoiler I believe the Ukranian that you were talking about might be Yev Kouchnir, who competed last year in Vegas. Dunno. No one I spoke with wanted to even do the research for his name. NBC's decision to have him there at all was THAT polarizing.

f*** NBC. I am so fed up with their stupid rules, and poorly made obstacles. I am done with ANW pretty much.... after the no hands balance rules, the going under the next only rules. I am f***ing fed up. Hopefully someone from NBC lurks here and realizes how far out from Sasuke they have become, it's sad really. Get your s*** together Arthur Smith.

Did anyone take photos then can share? or is everyone scared? or were phones confiscated? I wanted to see photos at hotels, etc. if there were any fan meetings. I love that kind of stuff!
