Just like last year, this thread will be for open spoilers about the event that people can get. If you have zero interest in finding out results, etc. then this thread is not for you. In this thread will be obstacle spoilers and even competitor spoilers whenever possible. HOWEVER: Please note that all results that are provided are only for the benefit of the community. NDA's are strictly enforced and under no circumstances are competitors to be hounded for information. If someone graciously provides information it will be appreciated, and the reverse is true, if information is held tight then we will understand and respect their decision not to come forward. We support our competitors and have no wish to have them sued. So let's play nice and enjoy the show. This is for ANW6 finals only (which if going by last year's schedule (and the aforementioned June 13-15 published dates) will be taped Friday, June 13 and Saturday June 14. (If that information is incorrect, let me know and I'll amend the dates) The Special (for those who remember USA vs. Japan) will be in a separate thread.

The Friday/Saturday/Sunday is June 13-15 this year, and it has been confirmed that Vegas contestants have been requested for the week of the 10th to the 15th.

Pics of the course are starting to pop up. (Spoilered for size) With them starting testing on the 10th I'm sure we will see a lot more over the next few days.

Final stage isn't just a rope climb? Funny how they change it before anyone has made it, and after hyping up the rope so much haha

Final stage isn't just a rope climb? Funny how they change it before anyone has made it, and after hyping up the rope so much haha I think that was a misunderstanding, he was saying Rope Ladder (as in Tarzan Rope + Rope Ladder i.e. "Final Climb" in ANW) at the end of stage 1 is confirmed, and the presence of the Final Stage is confirmed. I assume it's still the rope climb

I really hope they change stage 2 and 3 this year. I root for the competitors every year and want them to destroy the course. However the Sasuke fan in me expects the course to change, keep competitors guessing, and evolve with their skill levels. It's the reason why there has only been 4 clears in 29 tournaments. If ANW doesn't change stage 2 and 3 for a third year in a row after so many got that far last year, and someone finally get to the final stage, I don't know how I'll feel about that.

I'll personally be fine with it. Despite the increase in skill level, they usually change up Stage 1 to the point the vets with the best chances make flukey mistakes and considering most of the people who run in Vegas actually don't have all the necessary skills, it's not as set in stone that the course is being beat this year. Hell, it took five tournaments just for an American in this show's history to reach the final obstacle of Stage 3 and the jump to the mat hasn't even been attempted yet.

and the jump to the mat hasn't even been attempted yet. To be fair, it's not really a "jump." It's more of a "fall while moving somewhat forward."

I wouldn't say it took five tournaments. Remember: Sasuke does not equal ANW. You could say it took 2 tournaments, but definitely not 5.

In the show's history though, They still had to go through the same process of qualifying and semifinals to get through to Sasuke, Considering the potential was there in 23, 26 and 27 and still wasn't done it theoretically still counts as in the show's history,

Not ANW 1. It had a different format of getting people. And in ANW 2 and 3, they had boot camp. And in 4 and 5, they had more qualifying courses than the former ANW's. In that sense, they did not have to go through the same qualifying.

No American sent by G4 to either Japan or Vegas through American Ninja Warrior to participate on a four stage SASUKE style course has completed the first three of said stages. Please. This does not have to be difficult.

You also have to factor in that 2-3 years ago you didn't have as many dedicated training sites as you do now. Now just about everyone that makes it to Vegas has access to an almost complete stage 3 replica they can train on whenever they want. There were 21 people in stage 2 last year. If that happens again with the same old stage 2 then I would bet we have more than 7 in stage 3, and if stage 3 is the same more than 1 will probably be in the final stage.

You still have to perform and 'make it' when Vegas tapes. Yes, the more a stage stays the same, the higher the chance it's cleared due to people adapting to it. But the designers and producers will have no reason to drastically alter a stage other than for kicks unless many people do very well. 7 making it to Stage 3, under any qualification format, is the best we've had. But only one guy could beat the 3rd obstacle; don't change what works.
The series, in my opinion, needs at least a Final Stage attempt to stay interesting from a television standpoint. NBC doesn't promote the Sasuke-way; it feels like a competition all the time, because NBC is willing to even make the final a competition between the contestants. Or at the very least, the series needs more threats that one is imminent. Whether that's course design allowing more clears, competitor skill increasing to offset the course changing, or a mixture of the two, it's necessary.

There's a few pics that popped up on the Facebook group today from testers. I know most of you are in the group, but since it's private I don't know if they want them shared on here. I can confirm the last half of stage 1 is the same as last year. (Half Pipe Attack, Warped Wall, Spin Bridge, Tarzan Rope, Rope Ladder)
