Because somebody had to start it! First order of business...who will have eyes on the course the earliest as they start to construct? It seems usually about 4 or 5 days before the course is run it begins to really take shape and is recognizable in some form. Anybody live near Dallas?
Also, in Venice at least, regular "civilians" were taking pics of the course and putting it up on Instagram with #AmericanNinjaWarrior. We should be scouring that if nobody can get by the course by next Thursday or so.
Mod Edit: Taking place March 31st-April 2nd

Michael Solomon has stated he plans to be there by the Thursday just before. He's the earliest planned arrival I've seen stated anywhere.

Waiting this week is agony. I can't wait until production hits the ground in Dallas and they start building the course. Psyched to learn what obstacles we'll face!
It's interesting because aside from the main obstacles that are iconic and there for every course every year (quad steps, warped wall, salmon ladder) they recycled one obstacle from a different region in the prelims (steps to peg board) and one obstacle from another region in the regional finals round (body prop). Wonder if that is going to be the formula this year, meaning what obstacles will be recycled from last year and put in Dallas!

I am stoked to finally be able to run in the Dallas Regional for the first time!

Can someone edit the first message to say exactly what is the week? It's easier when looking for archiving purposes

I work 20 minutes from Fair Park. I will definitely be going out there after work next week to check out the construction.

I figure they'll roll into Dallas and start unloading either today or tomorrow. Hopefully by Thursday we'll have enough of the course to make some educated guesses! Then by Saturday they'll be testing :-)

Wednesday afternoon construction:
Here's what the first 6 obstacles kinda looked like in the early stages of construction. Couldn't get too close, but I'm going back out Friday night.
1. Quintuple steps 2. Circle slider 3. Rotating bridge 4. ? 5. Cliffhanger 6. Warped wall
Thoughts? Could be wrong, but I'm just speculating best on what I saw.

#2 could also be the Log Grip, no?

The scaffolding seems a bit strange for the Cliffhanger. Each ledge is hanging by 1 pole. It'd be sweet to have the CH that early though

I saw what looked like the ring sitting out there for the ring slider when I was on the other side.
And the 5th obstacle really looked like the spacing for the original cliff hanger.
I'm going back out Friday night to make another video.

Great video ginjaninja!
Obstacle #2 looks like something along the lines of the log grip, circle slider, or utility pole slider. For sure.
Obstacle #3 looks like the original Balance Bridge.
Obstacle #5 could be (?) some original cliff-hanger.
Can't tell at all what #4, #8 or #9 are yet.

Hmm, the scaffolding on the 4th ob makes me think it's the Flying Nunchucks

I'd be super surprised if the Flying Nunchuks were obstacle #4. Given how difficult it was last year in Venice, they'd make that obstacle #5 (which is usually the hardest grip obstacle in the opening round). Obstacle #4 is usually the "warm up" grip obstacle. I could be wrong, but that formula is pretty consistent over the years and regions.
