Shingo is going to ASEAN? He's going to be busy. He's competing in a golf tournament in Miyazaki just a few days before that. It won't be as close as when he did the Sasuke Trials and the Maguro festival in the same weekend, but it'll still be pretty close.

If you have to be in this to be in SASUKE 30, 75 of the 100 competitors will be Malaysian.
Just think about that, and then think about what you just said.

Will be interesting to see who actually goes. Everyone is saying they were accepted, but most are saying they can't afford the trip. I'm guessing there will be 10-15 Americans going at most, but soon we'll know for sure!

2 full days of "qualifiers", on a likely short course with the Sasuke-style organization method (get a number, line up, go when the other guy is done), without the delays of fancy shmancy US TV production slowing things down, and a top *100* moving on to the main event... Theyre gonna be putting a LOT of guys thru!

The main Event on the third day for the top 100 qualifiers is a 3 stager, I think

Actually it's not a Sasuke style course. I can't get into details as to what is going to be there and there will be more than 100 in a lot of cases. The main event will be sorta a 3 stage but it's not quite what people think. It's a completely different design. My understanding of the qualies was running the "first stage" but that is heavily tweaked and a lot longer than the usual Sasuke.

This might sound kinda dumb, but since you say that the course will be a completely different design, do you mean that the obstacles in the stages will be rather unconventionally placed? (for example, Arm Rings in the 1st Stage or something like that)

I can't go into detail. Also, the information I was given was also back in December and still in the planning stages so for all I know most of that has either changed or tweaked. That said the original plan was a bit different than what we are used to. Those expecting a replica of Sasuke's 4 stages though will be in for a surprise. I was actually excited to hear of the proposed changes. Moreso was the fact that they plan to learn and adapt every year to make it different each year. I'm happy since that event can help Americans get through to Sasuke. Not a lot.. but it's something given that the door right now with NBC is shut. I'll take anything we can get.
As for Japanese going the last I heard were 5 guys going from Japan and at the time I was told only 1 was confirmed (which we all know since we saw Sasuke 29). There's a small list they are picking from for the final 4. We know publicly know 2 so only 3 more left to be picked. Shingo is bold in saying that.. most are too afraid to say anything public. LOL

Long time no post folks, just wanted to let yall know I'll be one of the Americans headed over. I had to get a gofundme page set up but my friends, family and fans came through and supported me fully. With the money raised I intend on having a video made after it is all said and done as closely to a actual show as possible with things like training / interviews / general trip footage etc. Really excited this finally became a reality and we can do this and ANW since the two dates don't conflict. Thanks for all the updates. I'll do my best to post how things go over there!

I'm just hoping the qualifier isn't like, a pushup contest, or 1000 meter run, or something else shtooopid

Just re-read the FAQ from the e-mail/website, and I see what you mean. It does sound like they have something wacky in store! Guess I should figure some things out for my training. Are we looking at more of an endurance obstacle race, a la Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, etc? Cuz.... that would be kinda... lame? www.sasukeaseancup.asia/#!faq/cwvn

Maybe the location change shifted the dates and the "National Team Event" is on the 24th?. The Open Cup might have had the qualifiers on the 20th and 21st with the actual Open Cup being on the 23rd it seems if the dates on that poster are correct and shifted from the ones listed here
