For who's ratings? Last time I checked both Sasuke 20 AND Sasuke 21 had a crapload of people watching and saw it live on TBS that day and STILL watched Ninja Fest. I hate their argument. If they were truly pissed they'd contact the creators of Lost to stop showing the damn spoilers because it will mess up their show. Last time I checked.. they do not produce Sasuke. And yet Sasuke's ratings are going down the toilet and G4 appears to be getting diminishing returns on Ninja Warrior. The NDA controls the information stream and makes sure people aren't turned off by any leaked tidbits. After all, if you know how it ends, you probably won't care about the rest of it. Trust me, if something happened was worth mentioning, Monster9 and/or G4 will definitely let you know about it. Otherwise, it's tune in and find out. Put away your sense of entitlement; you haven't earned it. To answer another topic, the red lights were everywhere in Stage 3, just for the ambiance. G4's ratings are weird. NinjaFest (2 or 3) was one of G4's highest rated periods. Its weird though, because Ninja Warrior reruns slump like crazy. I think the reason Ninja warrior is slumping in ratings and Sasuke is slumping in ratings are 2 different reasons. I mean yeah, Thats probably why there changing things up. And they should, the Pole maze was getting a bit boring. I want the 1st stage to be much easier anyway.

Just gotta ask, for anyone who was into Sasuke before 17, did they (Monster 9/TBS) say about someone winning during adverts of 17 or after recording?

I think they are changing things up to make the First Stage run a bit faster. Right now, a good run takes almost two minutes to complete and a run can be determined successful or not way before a guy gets to the Tarzan Rope (the only exception is Brian O during Sasuke 21) and a good reason for that was the Pole Maze. Many of the runs in Sasuke 21 seemed boring, and the crowd seemed almost silent. I think with the changes they make to the course, the time limit should be something like 100 seconds, and a fast run = excitement = good TV.

I hope the commercials have some of these new obstacles so people can see them and know something's new.
And what do you mean Pole Maze is GETTING old? It's been old since 19 (18 it was boring but I don't think it counted as a Maze in 18)
And I don't know. I knew that Nagano made it to the Gliding Ring before I saw 21 and that made me unable to wait for seeing 21.

I agree with that 100%, even I felt like the first stage was getting to strung out. In my opinion, the first stage should be the proving ground stage, anyone who trained should be-able to pass it imo. (Around 25.) And than weeding out the noobs after that. I want the first stage to be at around 85 seconds.

I also agree. I liked 18 at first because the Rope Glider made an exciting Start.. Then people started failing the Great Wall... And the Rope Glider got really boring.. Bungee Bridge was annoying.. Glad they shortened it in 19 but the course still took too long with the slow guys on the Pole Maze and the Log Grip starting problems. 20 was 5 seconds more but less time outs so it was a bit more exciting. 21 solved the starting problem but still slow paced. I like the idea of a faster stage 1.
And I always thought the rule was if you had 18 seconds left by the end of the Flying Chute you have it and if you have 16 seconds you lose.. Then 21 happened. First time since 17 we've had split second clears, 21 made me miss them.
But I like that they got rid of the Pole Maze and Flying Chute, too much down time. While the Flying Chute was a challenge, it was boring watching people go down a 20 foot slide...

By the way people, if you're going to be using any of the race photos and posting them elsewhere, at least credit them to the organization you're taking them from: These are all official photos of the JOSF, The Japan Off-Road Short Track Federation.

Well how do I make those transparent watermarks you did for 20 that I didn't notice until someone pointed them out to me?

I don't think it seems like it'd fit in Stage 2 at all.

I do agree that it would be an awkward transition to get to the flying chute, but stage 2 has always been about time, and the flying chute can take you 5 seconds or 30 seconds which is always fun.

That's what we gather from those pics of the first stage. Plus tweaking of a few others (like the plank to the Warped Wall).

That could be something that keeps it from falling into the water at the end of the track. They couldn't do that with the Stick Slider in Stage 2 because they need to get the bar down to the start of the Salmon Ladder.
