I just thought of something. Maybe there was a technical difficulty while they were setting up and had to create something entirely new in its place.

Considering it's been around for what, 4 tournaments? I think they would have figured out the technical difficulties by now.

I'm amazed that the Flying Chute'd be taken out as well, since that's, to me, one of the more exciting obstacles in Stage 1 and it's taken out a bunch of guys since its debut. What could possibly replace it?

I just don't know if I can believe that it's true. IMO, the Flying Chute was quickly becoming one of the staple obstacles of stage one, so why take it out? I mean it take out some of the greatest competitors in Sasuke ever: Nagano, Yamamoto, Nagasaki, etc. I can see how he would get the information, but it just seems a little bit unreal to me. However, his word is probably one of the most reliable at this point in time. It would make sense if they're changing the course a bit though, since there is a new producer because of Higuchi doing something else.

I always liked the suspense of it. First time I saw a vid of 18 I was like "A slide? WTF" and then when I saw the rope I was like "Holy s***.." Not to mention it's the closest to a rest you get in stage one (sitting while on the Slide part).
And makes perfect sense it's gone because the guy picked by Higuchi is doing Sasuke 22 while Higuchi isn't doing it.

Two people did that. Both were Muscle Musical members.

I guess she confirms the steps are still there , also one of those people who nearly killed himself on the chute was Iketani.
Oh another small confirmation not that its major but theres a pic of olivia with some guy and stage 3 is behind them can see the SCH obviously, The jumping bars, and the hang climb is still present so, I guess a safe bet the spider flip and ring are there still.

I'm actually really excited to see what the course looks like I think they wanted to shake it up for the 9 people who beat it the last time.. and of course take the complacency of people who think they got this course nailed I say bring it on! And yeah Ube is exactly correct. The course is open to press, etc. the day before just that no one is supposed to touch it.

I guess she confirms the steps are still there , also one of those people who nearly killed himself on the chute was Iketani. That's right. G4 named him the Warrior Wipeout that day. The Flying Chute has taken out some of the best, I agree. Sometimes I forget that Nagano was one of those unfortunate few; to this day I am still shocked that that happened to him in 19. Which stuns me all the more that they'd take out the Flying Chute. What could be more difficult and/or exciting than that obstacle?

It seems to have been ok up till now, but IMO the Flying Chute is potentially dangerous. If you slipped on the slide and hit the rope without attempting to catch it, it could do some damage. I think it's better now than it was in 18, when it was more taut and directly in your path as you come off the slide.
EDIT: Also, the Flying Chute is getting far too easy for too many competitors. Most of its notoriety comes from 19 when it was almost unfairly difficult.
