Well yes i've seen that picture, but until we see it in motion or we here from someone who has, I'd think anything would be speculation at this point. However I do agree, it looks like some kind of bar sliding. It could be something like the pipe slider or circle slider with a bar. I wouldn't think that they would put "Reach up, grab bar, slide down track" at the end of stage 1, there must be more to it than that, JMO.

I suggested several pages ago that there could be a springboard we can't see which would make it just like the circle slider except with a bar.
Didn't they say that they intended to keep the circle slider for a while except Nagano cleared in 17 and the whole thing was redone?
In that pic I dont think you can reach that high to where the track starts without some help (platform, trampoline, springboard etc.).
Edit: Yes, I do see it, i was one of the first to point that out. Also its the basis for my arguement here. How the heck do you get up that high without help from something? I personally liked the circle slider and if thats what it is I think that would be a cool way to end stage 1.

Everything regarding that obstacle is theory as of now, we even don't know for sure if there is a pipe you have to hold onto or something else. Really, all we know is that there is a Stick Slider-esque track (not necessarily the Stick Slider Rider) and a Jump Hang-like net at the end.

Well, there is no springboard or trampoline seen in any of the pictures, even in the one where the guy is attempting the obstacle, so as of now, I don't see how to start it other than walking up to it.

Yup, they're there. And holy crap, look at the size of that gap. And it looks like it still has angle the Stick Slider does. If the Stick Slider is officially in Stage 1 now.. What the hell is after the Salmon Ladder? the Suicide Dive!

What the hell is after the Salmon Ladder? the Suicide Dive! Or maybe it's the Flying...Something that isn't chute.. Well the Flying Wrights seems a bit outdated and probably extremely irrelavent to the course. The Flying Disk sounds a bit small and if they sized it up it sounds pretty dangerous for an obstacle. The Flying Gamahooch I don't think you can show on TV.

if there is a pipe-like thing then you will probably have to jump for it.
using my eyes, it seems like that the track is too low to the ground.... either they want you to jump or they actually realized that luci will be there to pwn the obstacle.

you heard it first, the pipe slider! There is no Angled Pipe Slider. There is the Stick Slider though. (If someone mentions the irony I'll knock them upside the head with that bar)

the thing thats funny is that the people in Japan are probably clueless about new obstacles and stuff and were like...analyzing pictures from some bike race...lol

Didn't even see the 2 posts before Arsenette's XD.
Towards the end I think I briefly saw someone transfer onto the net.

I think people here are more used to waiting for the show to air. And besides, way more people in Japan have more inside information than anyone else.

I'm sorry I must be blind or something, but was it at 0:27 where you saw the guy transfer to the net?
