Please keep ALL discussion for these episodes in their respective threads. Monday, August 26, 2013 - NBC Network8:00 PM - S05, E18 - Las Vegas Finals - Part 2 Description: The finalists head to Las Vegas, where they tackle a four-stage obstacle course. Going to be using TV Guide and winging it to get the correct dates (especially after the debacle with the zap it website).. This is Finals from Las Vegas, Nevada on NBC. Please keep this specific episode on this thread only. Don't bring up other regionals into discussion here. Keep that on those threads. REMINDER: There are people who did not read the respective spoiler threads from when the competition was taped.. please do not include information from that thread here. Stick to the episode shown. Last reminders of course that all of this thread is a spoiler thread for what is shown on G4's broadcast.

So..... is this THE finale? There's like NO time for the later stages with this pacing! My guide says next Sunday is a repeat on G4... unless it's only Monday next week? I'm very confused right now lol

At this point, we need a drinking game for the Jumping Spider. Can only hope anyone who matters in who works on ANW obstacles will notice this.

What did that mean, "Joyce Shaboz, the first woman to make it to the national finals twice." They only did 2 national finals so far! You know how on basically every TV show there are continuity errors? Well thats basically what ANW is doing. There basically saying "The first American woman to make it to Mt. Midoriyama twice," even though Luci Romberg did it first. Next, when a woman beats the jumping spider they will say, "The first woman to beat the jumping spider," even though Luci has that record too.

ANW constant continuity errors is something that's been going on since it started.

What did you guys think of them telling Andrew Lowes that he timed out RIGHT in the middle of his interview in a good-news, bad-news thing?

I knew Andrew was too late with the button press as soon as it happened. Three tenths of a second is a long enough time for the human eye to see the difference. The good-news, bad-news interview should have never happened because the ability for the gates and smoke to activate should have been shut off the moment the clock hit 0:00.00. It's a sign that ANW needs to get their technical setup fixed. Of course, we already knew that because the gates opened after the time expired on stage 1 during ANW 4.

Yeah, that was in extremely poor taste. Just give him the freaking bad news first instead of lifting his spirits up just to crush them a second later. Of course, it doesn't surprise me after following NBC's Olympics coverage for years. They love making people cry, then zooming in on their anguish.

I'm very confused right now lol According to the schedule posted on Esquire's ANW site there will be no more new episodes airing on G4. tv.esquire.com/blog/15-american-ninja-warrior-2013-episode-scheduleEverything is now on NBC, and they mentioned in tonight's episode that next week will be 2 hours long.

What happened to Andrew Lowes was completely inexcusable.
There is absolutely no excuse for ANW to not have official visible clocks at the end of each stage like SASUKE, and for ANW not being able to keep the gates locked if someone didn't clear the stage. This is their second season; those things should have been fixed.
Their "interview" with Andrew was just wrong. They deliberately tried to manufacture drama. Maybe the producers thought they could pull a "For me, there is nothing else except SASUKE" moment. You could see that he was devastated.
--------
They'll just say that she's the first woman to beat the Jumping Spider "in Vegas," Buster1920.

No seriously, go check the replay. They spelled it James McGraph. I swear if I had a computer right now I'd photoshop grids onto him... lol

If the lack of consistency of the Jumping Spider next year follows the progression, no one short of those who can pull of a full split will be able to stick to the walls. It's appears to be farther, Paul Kasemir's interview indicates it's also wider (daphuck) and the run up is so short I doubt a Scion could fit there without considering spillage. I wish I was just exaggerating to be overly critical, but it seems to be the case more and more. The trampoline is properly level with the run up now but now everything else is screwy.

For the record, of the 48 contestants to run so far, 11 have cleared. Of the 37 fails, 23 of them have come on the Jumping Spider.

I am so pissed off with what they did to Andrew Lowes. If you've seen it, you know. Technical mistake letting the gates open, and the interview was one of the most obnoxious ones I've ever seen. I was slightly negative towards Jenn Brown before, but after that interview, I want her gone. I'm sure they told her to deliver the news, so I don't blame her for that. But any interviewer worth their salt would have just broken the news and asked him how he felt, not do the whole "good news, bad news" thing and then try to pull information when he is obviously totally devastated.

Were they allowed to jump off the Jumping Spider trampoline frame like Shiratori Bunpei used to do?

Considering how far and wide it is it probably wouldn't work.
