Please keep ALL discussion for these episodes in their respective threads. Sunday, August 4, 2013 - G4 Network9:00 PM - S05, E11 - Baltimore Finals Part 1Description: Part 1 of 2. Participants compete in the Baltimore finals. The course features 10 obstacles, including the Rumbling Dice and Body Prop. Continuing to use TV Guide listings and winging it. If anyone sees discrepancies please bring it to my attention and I'll edit it. The whole point is to make sure that we get proper discussion threads for each of the televised shows to help those who didn't want to get spoiled avoid an incident. This is "Semi's" from the city of Baltimore, Maryland on G4. Please keep this specific episode on this thread only. Don't bring up other regionals into discussion here. Keep that on those threads. REMINDER: There are people who did not read the respective spoiler threads from when the competition was taped.. please do not include information from that thread here. Stick to the episode shown. Last reminders of course that all of this thread is a spoiler thread for what is shown on G4's broadcast.

That confused me too, greenday. Also did you see Evan Dollard say in the Well-Trained Warrior segment about the Salmon Ladder; "I f***ing hate this thing."

Wait.... isn't it not allowed to leave the SL early? In venice it wasn't, I dunno about Miami or Denver, but actually that was going to be the case in Baltimore too but due to the Rumbling Dice's difficulty they changed that on tester day, in the morning going over the rules we got told to get to the marked notch. Then after all the rules and last minute preps were ready and we took to the course and eventually we got to the SL+RD, only 3 people attempted it due to safety of unexperienced SL attempts (ok I lied a bit and said I had done a Salmon Ladder but shhh). Please note the original RD had the full track length, the platform you saw was added later, first attempt was Jonathan Tapp, an ANW staff member as a professional tester, he cleared but was slow through the RD, next was Charles Kokolskyj, co-runner of Warrior Lab, he got up the SL just fine but wasn't able to move the RD (note: he didn't swing), in agreement with the crew he let go and took a swim, at this point after Jonathan's clear that took a ton of effort and Charles not even getting one roll, they had just said to move on when you feel you can reach it, they told that to the third tester on this combo, Collin Schaffer, that's me, I got up the SL but also couldn't move the RD, I had tried the inwards grip alternation used once in Japan (I want to say by Takeda but not 100% sure), then out of desperation I tried putting both hands on top to pull it down like a reverse SL, didn't work either, I tried the familiar method and it still didn't work, so I kept at that getting a swing going and moved it and made it almost to the end, I was running low on power after burning so much energy on the failed and successful attempts, I decided to jump to the end but as I adjusted my grip my hand slipped and I couldn't hold on with one hand unexpectedly at that point and I fell in, they ended up moving the platform to the spot I reached TL;DR version: only in Baltimore could you skip because the Rumbling Dice was a b**** EDIT: For reference

When I have a working computer, since Baltimore has aired I should be fine, if not for my computer issues I'd still wait for after tomorrow's episode to be safe but at this point I'm fine, just literally unable to...

Little bit annoyed by the Body Prop, but that's me micro-scrutinizing that it's not THE Body Prop.

Didn't like how it was super long and only had one gap and it was for the hands? (as opposed to two hand gaps and one foot gap).
Due to the way it was built it wasn't really possible to set up a foot gap aside from just having easily exploited exposed scaffolding (granted they did that in Japan but still), it was a big square rig mounted on overhead tracks (same kind the Downhill Jump's rope is on) with some other piece of scaffolding outside of it with bars locking it or something, TBH I don't know about the lock, I wasn't on that side (when being led to the staff lunch tent to wait we crossed to the inside at the Warped Wall and in testing we stayed on the inside except when we climbed down after the Swing Jump but we only were there for that time) and never was on the platform for it so I don't know much about the Body Prop there
Or was the complaint about painted wood instead of plexiglass? TBH I'm not sure, never touched the Body Prop, couldn't attempt it due to being wet

I didn't like the body prop either. The hand panel not being transparent like SASUKE bugged me so much that I didn't even realize that it was missing a foot panel gap and another hand panel gap.
What was the weather like in Baltimore? I thought that Jeffrey Tan running shirtless, in bare skin, was a bit crazy, considering how many heavy coats and gloves there were in the crowd.

Cold as f***... Don't know the exacts but I heard something about it was in the 40s, I wish I brought more than a hoodie since I was freezing... In the day it was fine but around 7 PMish the temperature started dropping, by the time city finals started (around 2 AM) it was super cold...
I reached out for the bleachers guardrail to see what the metal out there felt like and that s*** was cold, the extended course is brutal in 70 degree sunshine, but with hand-hurting cold holy $#!+...
I really feel bad for all the victims of the course... that water must have been a total b****... and you get chilled in the wind in nice weather from that... thursday's wind was nothing like saturday's wind (sorta glad I didn't get a crowd closeup on national TV because that wind messed my hair up big time lol )

So did Jamie Rahn dress up as Captain Esquire? Or G4 the day before? He was Captain NBC both days (original scheduled qualifying day and day 2 where everything was done), however in the time between rounds he ditched the channel thing for an on the spot kind of monster thing (as visible in his run)

Lol I'm not sure comcast even knew at that point, the signs said esquire but all the forms (the waiver/nda and the sign-in for spectators) still said G4, I saw all the signs all along the guardrails and when I got the waiver I was confused lol
