When I do the salmon ladder, I look at both sides at once. It freaks people out. Just for the record, thats a joke. I dont have the lazy eye to do that lol.

When Akbar was making those comments, I couldn't help but think of one of these. If only he had arms, he'd have no problem watching both sides of the bar...

I don't care if akbar stays, they have GOT to get rid of Jenn Brown.

Akbar seems enthusiastic buy why does he keep saying they need to hurry up when they've got like 50 secs. left and only two obstacles? Too dramatic

I actually agree, jimmy was better than his replacements, but Alison was a good sideline reporter for ANW, she really understood the show, both the spirit and history (at least recent history since G4 got involved, even 24 where she was there for stage 1)

Matt Iseman is the man, a real pro at his job and quite passionate about the competition. And a great guy off the camera as well.
Allison Haislip is definitely the best sideline reporter ANW has had. Funny and fun. Jenn Brown does nothing for me, although I see her trying hard. More than Angela Sun did (who looked great in spandex to her credit).
Akbar didn't do much for me, it seemed he was dialing it in and was horrible in the live commentary. Matt Iseman could do a live commentary of the run by himself that would be good for the show, Akbar never in a million years. Evan Dollard would be a great pick, charismatic and funny, and a proven ANW competitor.

Matt Iseman is awesome all around. I hope he's around for awhile.
Jimmy Smith was also solid.
Johnny Moseley had passion, but his commentary was sometimes a little lacking.
I thought Akbar was/is pretty terrible. He constantly criticized competitors for not completely obstacles the way he thought they should be completed. There was just a negative vibe about him that I really didn't enjoy.
Both Jenn Brown and Angela Sun are very good on a technical level (clear voice, solid interviewing skills, good transitions, etc.) but I don't think either of them were given the screen time to do anything other than generic sideline reporting. They're great at reading the course layout and asking their generic interview questions, but that's really all they do. Jenn Brown is obviously more likely to return since she just hosted the previous season, but either of them are fine with me.

I did confirm with Jenn and Akbar and they are both returning this year with Matt. I think they were OK. Both Jenn and Akbar are really nice people off camera and were both easy to talk to, beside Jenn said her Mom is a great fan of mine.

Jenn Brown is terrible at her job. This is in all facets of reporting. She got assigned to do the CrossFit Games after ANW was over and was god-awful. Her ESPN work doesn't redeem her.

That's funny. Those defending the announcers only point out their personal attributes as being nice. I think they are all terrible. Allison is about the only one I had no issues with. The rest are part of the reason why I don't watch ANW. I have to mute the show when I do.

Alison was the best. Angela Sun wasn't terrible. She talked to a bunch of us in the competitor's waiting area and interviewed a bunch of us.
Jenn Brown seemed like she didn't care at all.

I wouldn't mind Alison being back. She was the only one remotely genuine. I can tolerate Iseman because he's not Blair Herter. They all use that "excited announcer voice" way too much, though.

Aww, don't knock Blair. He was at least genuinely interested in the show.

He was interested, but he should not be commentating since he was pretty dull on commentary, if them not wanting the female on screen he'd be good for the job of interviewer since like you said, he is genuinely interested in it and would know more about ANW than someone they just bring in not knowing too much (as was evident with Akbar and to a slightly lesser degree Jonny)

Agreed. I just don't think interest always equals good work. Very few people in G4 had that kind of quality to be a good announcer anyway. Personally out of all of them I hated Blair the most in the role. Could be director also to blame on that as well. Announcing is hardly done in a vacuum and there's a lot of people in the background that can help make or break a show's presentation as a whole. Hell.. I even thought Olivia was better than Blair and I couldn't stand Olivia's persona on G4 either.

I don't think this counts as a spoiler: All 3 (Matt, Akbar, Jenn) are back.
