This is probably something that you guys have noticed from past seasons that I just found out from this season, but apparently they'll also edit and provide false analysis in order divert attention away from problems with the course. EDIT: I just read my post and it reads like I'm super bitter. I'm not I swear!

Another reason for why they would never have Kane Kosugi as an announcer on ANW would be because he is technically the only American to ever clear Stage 3, which G4 and NBC have brainwashed viewers from thinking otherwise since they began involvement in SASUKE/ANW (just as a measure of them continuing this lie and to avoid confusion). Back on topic, I'd like to see John Madden as an announcer personally. He's arguably one of the most well-known sports announcers of all time, so he would probably have a good feel for the play-by-play (or, in this case, obstacle-by-obstacle ) action on the ANW course. Besides, a big name like him may draw some additional attention and ratings to the show.

Back on topic, I'd like to see John Madden as an announcer personally. You just want to hear him say "Boom!" every time a runner falls into the water

It probably doesn't matter much who the hosts are anyway, because ANW is so over-produced.
I've always had the impression that the hosts were reading lines off of a script or a teleprompter; it just doesn't feel natural and spontaneous. Jenn Brown always looks to me like she's reading cue-cards while being threatened at gunpoint.
The only one I ever thought who did fairly well was Alison Haislip.

Well the between commercial segments have a teleprompter, wish I got a picture of that for this thread lol
Theres a bunch of stuff they scroll back and forth for when recording those, couldn't read it from the bleachers though due to the corner we had here. Runs are on the spot from what I can tell

I agree about akbar making too many football references He said alan connealy was like a strong safety Also i like matt but sometimes he makes a big deal out of little thing Especially on balance obstacles when someone dives to the end

I just thought of someone. The MMA fighter Jason "Mayhem" Miller. In case you don't remember, he competed in the qualifying round with a time of 3 minutes. If the producers want an athlete, This is an athlete who competed on the course. I also found a video of his run on youtube.

Oh, and maybe Brady Romberg from Jump City: Seattle. I thought he was a good commentator. He could be good.

Anyone else sick of Akbar saying "He looked at one side" when people fail the Salmon Ladder. I'm sick of it because EVERYONE who tries the Salmon Ladder looks at one side.
Note: I know not everyone, but a lot of people they show do it.

They're both pissing me off with this and the 90 degrees thing. I don't know if I can stomach it to finals. I'm sure their repetitive commentary and only showing like 8 runs per episode have something to do with the poor ratings.

Are the commentaries recorded live? Akbar's always sound like they were added in later. I find Akbar hilariously entertaining, though. He always looks disinterested, to the point where sometimes he looks like he's dozing off. Then the producers will remind him he's on camera and he'll immediately flash a fake smile. There was a great example of it during the Miami finals, but it's not the only time: imgflip.com/i/31qz7

They do record commentary during runs, not sure how much re-recordings happen because the audience doesn't hear the run commentary live, not to mention the obvious chronological alterations (like referencing runs that happened later live during earlier (in actuality, not broadcast) competitors)

Matt does his job exceptionally well. He never shows a sign of disinterest and has a lot of enthusiasm. You can tell a man loves the show when he has come back for four years to do the same job over and over again. Regardless of some of the questionable technique comments he may have made in the past, I think he should never be replaced.
I like Jenn Brown. I've heard a lot of negative comments from her not only on this site but in real life as well. Her job may be simple, but she does it well enough for there to not be any issues.
Akbar has to go. This guy is so annoying.

When I do the salmon ladder, I look at both sides at once. It freaks people out.

I only look at one side when I do my salmon ladder. My left.

I just kept looking up and doing a quick eye turning glance at each side until the last two jumps where I just rushed up since I kept it so even and didn't want to hang on too long before the part where s*** got serious... (the heavy Rumbling Dice)
