Please keep ALL discussion for these episodes in their respective threads. Sunday, July 21, 2013 - G4 Network9:00 PM - S05, E07 - Denver Qualifying Part 1Description: Part 1 of 2. A qualifying round in Denver featuring obstacles such as the Rolling Log, the Rotating Bridge, the Jump Hang Kai and the Grip Hang. Contestants include professional snowboarder Graham Watanabe. Continuing to use TV Guide listings and winging it. If anyone sees discrepancies please bring it to my attention and I'll edit it. The whole point is to make sure that we get proper discussion threads for each of the televised shows to help those who didn't want to get spoiled avoid an incident. This is Denver, Colorado Prelims on G4. Please keep this specific prelims on this thread only. Don't bring up other regionals into discussion here. Keep that on those threads. REMINDER: There are people who did not read the respective spoiler threads from when the competition was taped.. please do not include information from that thread here. Stick to the episode shown. Last reminders of course that all of this thread is a spoiler thread for what is shown on G4's broadcast.

Well...the balance...er...Rotating Bridge is bloody angled. It looks like we may have an ANW 2 Bridge of Blades on our hands!

NBC: The only company that intentionally makes their obstacles malfunction

As far as I know that's the only intentional error, not that this season was immune to error (hopefully it's legal to say but Baltimore's Rumbling Dice was heavier than it should have been (compared to japan), the platform was too far and had to be moved back to the point the most successful amateur attempt failed at near the end)

Broadcast wise, not in actuality from what I heard. They also cut all mention of any day runs in Baltimore but those happened... even some clears which got put on the leaderboard without even a ff

Oh. When I got there the day before it was leveled when the testers were on it. After a couple more run throughs they decided to have it tilted. Opening night it stayed tilted.

From what I heard they intentionally did that after so many people had no problems with it It was angled from the beginning on the night of the runs. They started angling it the evening/night before during testing, or maybe very, very early Sunday. I'm a bit fuzzy on exactly when it was first angled, not having slept well from Friday to Sunday, but it was very definitely rotated before any official runs started.

Thanks for clearing that up, I heard they intentionally tilted it after it proving too easy but didn't realize it was after testing.
See you Denver tester guys were lucky, you got stuff deemed too easy, here in Baltimore we had to do things that were hard enough that a couple things needed toned down (mainly the Rumbling Dice but the Circle Cross had to have the tubed chains switched to ropes)

Oh, I didn't get to test. I was in the walk-on line from Friday to Sunday, but did get to see a lot of testing. I could see from the line that they definitely did do a few modifications to increase the difficulty a bit (plus taking out the first curved support bar on each of the Grip Hang pieces when one of the testers nearly smashed his head into it when making the jumps).
