So its already quite obvious that they abandoned the boot camp/reality show idea last season, but I was rewatching it today and I found that it was quite entertaining. I wish there was a full fledged show like this. I was wondering if anyone else agreed?
I think having ANW (the qualifying challenges and the finals) and a ANW reality show would be pretty entertaining. Its definitely better than most reality shows out there.
Thoughts?

Totally agreed! I'm a fan of ALL sorts of gameshows, and we got to know the ninjas more and saw how hard they train for Sasuke! It's a HUNDRED times better than having a final in Vegas!

It was awesome because it had all of our favorites and we got to really see how hard they work and what their personality is really like in a competition fashion.
I think they should really bring it back. And I'm okay with Sasuke in the US, as long as they said it was the US version or something..

From what I know, the competitors gave it really negative reviews. I remember James McGrath saying in an interview that boot camp actually hurt his Japan performance. That said, I don't think people would really be down for it.

I think the bad thing about it was it incorporated the aspect of it not JUST being about your skills plus the team aspect allowing weaker competitors to potentially bring down the strongest.

Hooray, I actually have something to say! I actually watched a few of the old ANW3 boot camp episodes with several of the bootcamp vets from that season, and the general consensus was that while the actual quality of life during the taping of bootcamp was absolute garbage, it was an incredible bonding experience that led to a lot of great memories and stories. I think if it were up to those competitors, bootcamp would get the green light, not because of the crooked elimination system (something they were against) but more because it was fun and allowed them to get a lot closer to each other.

It would be great if David Campbell put together a series chronicling his road to ninja warrior as an independent project.

Rather an old thread but having watched ANW backwards I only recently saw the Boot Camp specials and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Really brought something different to the table that ANW seems to be missing these days. Don't get me wrong, I love ANW as much as Sasuke but the boot camp had something about it. I know the College Team Ninja Warior was a damp squib and the Japanese don't want too many Americans on Sasuke anymore but perhaps a by invite only boot camp of 12-20 internationsl ninjas fighting for 6-10 places at the Vegas finals might be something interesting? I know a couple of the UK guys, Perry from NL, a few of the Swedes etc would be up for that for sure.
