The ANW hosts should show as much class as the competitors. They kept on acting like the Wilczewski brothers were rivals when they were definitely not. They are clearly supportive brothers and parkour athletes. Why not just tell it how it is -something positive / not something petty.

Agreed, not to mention taking a comment out of context and spinning it in the Venice ep2 (sorry for bringing another region into this thread)

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but the new Sunday episode did not record for me either. The first Baltimore episode denoted as "new" is scheduled to record Tuesday night, but this is really just a repeat of the Sunday broadcast.
G4 has gone beyond hitting rock bottom and is now drilling to the center of the earth. It's beyond forgivable when I, an avid fan who's actively seeking out this program, can't even figure out what's going on- and I'm even recording the series!!!. This happened last week with the "new" Tuesday episode that wasn't really new and now this week with the truly new episode on Sunday that didn't even record because it wasn't denoted as "new".
I've gone in and changed my DVR to record ALL episodes on G4, not just first-run episodes.

In the interim though.. ya'll missed an episode this week. There is an Episode 3 that ran on Tuesday for Venice. I'll try to keep up when creating the discussion threads. I posted this in the ratings thread (since it pertained to that discussion), but there actually wasn't a new Tuesday Venice Beach episode on Tuesday July 2. It appeared as "new" programming on Time Warner Cable's TV guide, and it recorded for me, but it was just a repeat of NBC's Monday July 1 broadcast. It looks like they are still going with the Sunday-new, Monday-new, Tuesday-repeat schedule, but what's getting recorded (for me at least) and what's showing up as a new first-run broadcasts in the TV guides is changing wildly each week.

Hey man this is TV. It would be boring if they said.
"They're always supporting each other. Helping each other and they know that if both pass they will both be happy"
That doesn't sound exciting lol

They did it in Japan too... Do you guys even remember 23-27? The whole All Stars vs New Generation gimmick? Or the whole country wars thing... Besides All Stars vs New Generation vs Americans, remember 25 trying to be international? And hell... remember 26 that not just promo'd the stuff, but even put a chart in the broadcast of country representation during stage 2 and 3? And I'm sure it's been going on for other gimmicks for years, someone get Arsenette or Ube here to help lol But do we like it? no... but it's part of how TV works so we live with it lol

I'm just going to throw out some names here
- Ryu and Ken - Hikaru and Akira (Hikaru no Go) - Ippo and Miyata (Hajime no Ippo) - Goku and Vegeta - etc. etc. etc.
The rival theme has been going on since forever and is the driving force behind progress. Rivalry stories are also very inspiring. I'm sure everyone has had rivals in their lifetime, and it's a great way to keep yourself accountable as well as incur continuous progress.
I don't see anything wrong with them playing this theme and if you think rivalries are petty you must be crazy. I'm sure the Wilczewski brothers love and support each other, but that doesn't mean they don't try to one-up each other as well. And that's a good thing, if there were no rivalries we never would have gone to the moon, we would all just be sitting at home getting by with being satisfactory.
I can also guarantee you that although all of us competitors love and support one another and root for one another, deep down we're still hoping that nobody achieves total victory because we all want to be the first to do so.

Yeah I can first hand confirm that "Aww damn... but oooh still my chance" thing lol
(What?... I'm sure plenty of you understand how amazing it'd be to go from superfan to first american to beat all 4 stages)

That's definitely the gist of it all when it comes to competitions. From regular video games, to board games and all kinds, ALL kinds of sports, you're dealing with friends/rivals that you'll definitely grow fond of and hope that not only them, but also you can get to the end. BUT, when it comes down to it, we all want the opportunity to be number one/the first to do it all. With the way things are now with the HUGE increase in challenges for the qualifiers (all regions being different for a change), it's a nice way to keep everyone on their toes and see how our friends do to learn from their mistakes to even planning how to go just a bit faster if time ever becomes an issue.
