Glad to see a lot more people are choosing age, because realistically, that is nearly the answer. As much as a lot more of us have gotten wiser about certain things, we unfortunately loose a lot of our "steps" that we used to do.

What do you mean by "underrated" approach of Sasuke?

What do you mean by "underrated" approach of Sasuke? Under or over estimating the difficulty of the course. That's why he didn't pass Stage 1 in Sasuke 29! He thought the Long Jump was harder than it actually is, so he injured his hamstring just to get across it. His age is not a main issue because he STILL has some stamina. Unrelated but Okuyama passed Stage 1 in Sasuke 29 at age 43 (Nagano's 41), so there's no way Nagano can't pass due to age (probably until he hits 50)! There's NO FRIGGIN WAY he doesn't concentrate. If you watch his Kanzenseiha in Sasuke 17 OVER and OVER again, his concentration is what MADE him achieve Kanzenseiha! I believe there's no way someone can lose concentration, so it carried on for years! P.S. I really didn't like this thread because it kinda made me sad of my idol!

I hate it when people think 'if X can do it, so can Y'

You need to take in consideration that Okuyama used to do track and field

He still the greatest of all You don't need to say it in EVERY. SINGLE. THREAD. MENTIONING. NAGANO. We get it. It's almost as if if you don't say it enough times you'll stop believing it. On topic, if anything, it's his age. He's not a natural athlete, so his body would understandably start slowing down right about now. Okuyama's also in fitness, so he has more resources to train (and more time considering Nagano still fishes). Nagano has expressed concern about his legs for a couple years now, especially since Akiyama's stalls at things like the Warped Wall. Legs are one of the first things to go, and his are starting to. 29 proved that when he hurt himself on the Hedgehog.

He pulled his hamstring when he went off the platform with too much force. Unlike other years where he admitted his heart wasn't into it.. he chose to come back this time hoping to recapture the fire. He didn't give up like he did in Sasuke 28 (partly because he didn't want Asami yelling at him again LOL) and he seemed a lot better trained this time around. While in the previous 2-3 tourneys it was lack of training and partial apathy.. this one was different. It was just over compensation thinking he wouldn't be able to pass the gap and put too much gusto into it. Even a trained athlete in his 20's would pull a hammy doing the same thing. So since I couldn't find my answer on the poll I didn't vote at all.

Eh, simple injury, really, it happens to anyone.
He touched/grabbed the top but didn't hang on for whatever reason (like Akiyama in 25) and that was with an injured hamstring.

I think he still did really well given how bad the hamstring injury appeared to be from the 1st obstacle, without that happening I think he'd have cleared stage 1 no problem seeing how well he did even *with* the injury.

I agree with this. He passed up a majority of the perfectly healthy competition. I want to see Nagano attack this new course in perfect health and see how far he'll get.
