Viewership numbers are increasing slightly, but that's only one measurement. The Ratings number decreased which measures the percentage of TV-owning households who are tuned into ANW during the average minute. The Share number, which has remained the same, is the percentage of TV users who are tuned into ANW at a specific time. And Arsenette, on your first post, Miami was week 3 and the Sunday G4 broadcast was on the 14th.

G4 ratings from Travis Yanan and The Futon Critic. American Ninja Warrior (9:00) - G4 0.258 million viewers, #40; 0.070 million adults 18-49 (0.1 rating), #40

That's interesting that it got a bit more viewers for week 3 in Miami (on NBC), but lost a couple of points overall. Guess with the Home Run derby being on (if I remember correctly), that kind of hurt it a little.

I don't believe Monday cable has come out yet. (Just checked) so it would be a good indicator where everyone went.

I had a feeling. Ah well, at least it's still doing good overall, despite taking that hit from the Derby.

ANW updated a tenth up on ratings on the adjusted Monday network. Still down from last week and a lot from last year however still hanging in 3rd for the night. I have to check Futon critic if it's still 4th or not but it might be up to 3rd. This website that does the adjustments never does the full night like Futon Critic does. Edit: They were 4th. Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta (8:00) - VH1 3.593 million viewers, #7; 2.394 million adults 18-49 ( 1.9 rating), #2
For those who get confused seeing these numbers. ANW beat Love and Hip Hop in overall viewers (as a whole) however the ratings (the one NBC looks at) only addresses the adults (TV's target demo) which in this case NBC was 4th with 1.6 (even adjusted up) while Love and Hip Hop was 1.9 with most of the audience being adults. So basically more kids (below 18) watched ANW giving them a bigger audience overall but not the key demo that NBC (and all networks) covet. Again as a comparison. They key rating for the night was in cable: Home Run Derby - ESPN 6.651 million viewers, #1; 3.295 million adults 18-49 ( 2.6 rating), #1 Now is it making sense? 3.295 million adults were watching baseball giving it a 2.6 rating, while 2.4 million adults were watching VH1 Hip Hop giving it a 1.9 rating, while (we don't know the exact number since they don't do that for network just show the ratings ranking) 1.8 rating (mostly women of course) were watching Bachlorette and 1.6 rating's worth were watching ANW (mostly men).

Okay some numbers are coming in. Just like last year I'll keep the first page updated and adjusted as the numbers come in. As a reminder we get "fast numbers" for network first.. then weekend cable numbers (usually just Futon Critic on Tuesday night) and then adjusted network a day later. So far the articles I found for NBC's coverage Monday night: Detailed by Night RankingDetailed HourlyActually adjusted was put up today for some reason - only change was a slight tick up in viewers however ratings/share/ranking didn't change: Adjusted numbersMore articles: Head to headRatings ChartSunday Cable

Are these ratings sufficient to not get canned next season? Are we out of the woods yet as far as worrying whether it will stick around for a while?

For a Monday night in the summer, ANW isn't doing horrible. Theoretically, since none of the competitors have to be paid (unless someone pulls a Vatican-recognized miracle and beats the course), it's less expensive than having to pay actors with large contracts.
Also I expect the ratings to swell during the National finals. Look at American Idol's ratings, their biggest hitters are the auditions (for the auditions (for the humor factor) and the Top however-many. Ratings for the Final 2 are always near the top for the year. I imagine ANW will benefit from the same thing.

Yeah, almost anything dealing with "finals" from reality TV to especially sports, that's when it'll pick up big time. Kind of surprised to see that the numbers are almost the same as last, week, so that's kind of interesting that's still consistent on that.

Actually ANW's ratings for the final dropped last year. I'm curious how this will turn out. Maybe since the prelims are done and they will be concentrating on semi's now things will go up? It's a crap shoot right now as to where it goes. If we go from last year the ratings will continue to slide. No one is counting G4's numbers anyway and NBC still has a 5 million viewer base and hanging 2-3rd in network each week. As a couple of you guys said it's cheaper to produce so I doubt it's going anywhere for a while.

Haha speakig of cheap contestants, I would almost PAY for a spot to compete. Not much, haha, but its so weird to think about getting turned down in the context tht you are offering free labor.
Maybe I will offer to be an on set grip next year, sweeten the deal...
