Different show Jason.
They are in-between dramas (or at getting to that point) right now so there are lots of one-off specials that will be airing now. For Three Minutes it looks like they want to have another show but when is not known.

I'd like to think the typical J-drama lasts more than 9 weeks, but I guess if there's a clunker, then you might as well pull it now. I also would be interesting in seeing what other competition shows there are this season (especially if there's more Ironomea or whatever it was). Give me a TV listing and a couple hours and I might be able to slog through.

Hey I got to see Nagano so it was worth it I'm awake at that time anyway so it wasn't a stretch. But it is a fluff filled show... as you can see from my blog.. I skipped through some of it.

I want a 50 meter long rope that I can try to climb across.

well the rope was not only the issue.. imagine it going up and down like crazy because one end is not fixed.. but being tied by a boat that's being moved around by the waves.. that's.. insane.. Viking at least was fixed on both ends.

I remember watching Nagano go and thinking "He's not going to need the full 3 minutes for this." He reached the halfway point and was just cruising. Then he did his bat imitation and rested......then he did it again.....then SPLASH. Pretty shocking since I didn't think they would feature someone failing in their attempt at something......then again, it was Nagano.
Special exceptions rock.

He was cruising until the rope was giving me motion sickness.. at the 25 it was so apparent and it didn't want to stop.. I was shocked he managed to hang on to the rope as long as he did.. It was like watching a pendulum in full swing.. no way it was going to peter out anytime soon.
Oh P.S. notice that after Nagano's they showed like 4 failures after that.

Give me a TV listing and a couple hours and I might be able to slog through. Ironomea is a weekly show, or at least I figured it was. I've watched it every week for the past..., I don't know, upwards of a month now. I caught the 2 hour special because it was being advertised during the Iromonea episode running up to Pro Sportsman Navi so freaking much. But yeah, every week since then. TV listing and a couple hours? www.ontvjapan.com/Enjoy.

yes, i remember watching Iromonea and posting what it was after searching for it everywhere. It was very funny(which is the point). And, I can't read Japenese and don't want to use crappy translators.

Iromonea is on Saturdays at 7:00 PM JST.
Failure is a regular part of Japanese variety shows. Iromonea regularly finishes without anyone completing the stages. SASUKE, we all know the track record there.
Incompetence is just better television.

As is watching others suffer in pain and abject humiliation. That's why everyone likes watching Simon Cowell tear into people.

Okay Monster 9 sent me back a very short email with 2 things. This was one of them:
"We are not sure if there is the next “3 minutes” on air."
So that listing for next week is not 3 minutes.

Besides if we know everyone on the show actually wins their challenge beforehand there wouldn't be suspense.

The latest Video Research ratings are out: 3 Minutes was nowhere to be found, meaning it didn't crack the top ten in whatever category it was in: www.videor.co.jp/data/ratedata/top10.htmThis isn't to say that the ratings were terrible. If the show was categorized as "Other" (which is where DOORS is placed) it could mean it had at the most a 16 or 15 because that particular category is where all the quiz, variety and comedy shows are. However, if it were categorized as "Sports" (like SASUKE), the it would mean a sub-8 rating, not very good. I think it would be categorized as "Other." And yes, 3 Minutes went up against Quiz Hexagon in the first hour.

why does monster9 keep putting his shows up aigenst japans most popular shows...?

For the same reason American stations put popular shows up against other popular shows: to see which one is more popular.
They probably figured: "Hey, its a new show! People will be curious! Plus Nagano?! We'll even advertise Yamada! Slam Dunk, baby!!!!!"
.......something like that, anyway.

I'm assuming Quiz Hexagon is a weekly show, and Sasuke has been going up w/ it for a while. Sasuke is Monster9's main show, and TBS likes Sasuke, and Higuchi. and because it has decent-subpar ratings and they probably have a lot of shows that they could put on in the timeslots. Also, they have TBS annoucers and what not in it, trying to keep it alive, so they obviously like it. BUT, if Quiz Hexagon keeps going up @ it and keeps beating it, then why do they try to keep having a David and Galiath battle, when David never wins. Idk, TV stations work weirdly, i dont see the sence in it. But, if Sasuke didnt do well against Hexagon, why in the hell would a sub-banzuke show do better than their main show? I have a feeling that people will be confused on whatever i just wrote...

Blind I have no bloody clue what you were trying to say but .. oh well.. LOL
Ube is Sasuke on Monday going up against Quiz as well? This was Wednesday which was the day the last 2 Sasuke's were. I didn't expect this to be a big show to begin so I'm not surprised it's not even listed. As much as I love Sasuke.. Monster 9 is not known to advertise their shows very well nor are all their shows good. Half of this one I kept asking myself why I was even watching it.
