That's always been the case. They always want to have a certain number of blue collar workers (like Shingo, before he retired), a certain number of entertainers (like the MM people), a certain number of athletes (like PAT), etc.

That one part seems to mention that Sasuke is "100 people from 100 different professions" and that competitors professions appear to have a role. Maybe Ube or someone else could confirm since I'm not the best at translating Yeah that's been the case from day 1. Which is why having a certain profession can sometimes be a bad thing.. Take for instance Takeda. He applied with his 4 other fireman friends from the same company but they chose Takeda because he was the most distinguished of the group and was Captain of the competition they just won. TBS/M9 was diligent to not have too many of one type of profession. 1-2 teachers, 1-2 fireman, 1-2 cops, so on and so forth so each person stands out rather than Fireman #20.

It's the old idea that you don't duplicate jobs as much as possible during SASUKE. Ideally, you should have 100 different people from 100 different walks of life (or jobs if you prefer).
In this tweet from last year he explains that it's like the Olympics. Different jobs are like different countries (implied):
Edit: Basically what tiger and arsenette said. He is almost definitely using the Takeda case as an example since he mentions five firemen.

Well that plus you can be the token foreigner like you mentioned before.. ahahahhaha Good luck over the weekend. Try to take pics but be careful that it's out of the way so you don't get in trouble. No obstacles just people.

Well, according to the picture it looks like I'll be running the first stage if I pass the interview. I'm soooooo effing nervous now and hoping I can calm down enough to have a good night of sleep.
I hope the interview isn't stupid. For example them asking "How much do you love Sasuke? Can you show that love to us now with loud cheering in front of a camera?" would probably mean me out before I can try the course because I'm a very "calm quiet" Okuyama type of person and not like Asa.
My students have been asking me a lot about Sasuke and when they can see me on the show. News got out about me going to the trials and the kids have given me a lot of support. More than anything I hope I can get through the trials and onto the show just to thank them for their support. I'm realizing how corny this sounds as I'm typing, but that's genuinely how I feel.
I think all the interesting people went on Saturday (Yamamoto, Hioki, Ishikawa, I've confirmed for Saturday by facebook) so I don't think I'll have anyone special to be taking a picture with. It's probably for the best because I went over the legal form I had to sign with one of the home room teachers at my elementary school and it's strict. I'll share whatever information I legally can about the experience when I get home and after the tournament I'll tell the whole story.

Thanks, I really liked the new yellow banners on the bibs! BTW isn't Shingo #89 and do you know others in this picture? Can't wait to hear more news! If he doesn't compete in Sasuke 29, I'm gonna FREAK OUT!

Good luck Sasuke Sensei Honestly though no matter how "corny" it is if that's how you truly feel then it will project. Never sell out for television and stay true to yourself. I really hope you get a chance to try out! You have our support

It's not corny really, in fact that's actually sort of great, you can use that to your advantage to at least move on in the interview. It's worked for teachers in the past on Sasuke.
And let me say it again in different words. There is nothing corny about Sasuke spirit!

Wow that guy just broke a whole lot of rules on that legal paper! We were warned many times over the course of the day not to take pictures and not to post stuff up on the internet... well we'll find out what happens I guess. On that note I'm back from the trials, and to stay out of trouble I won't say anything beyond "it was effing awesome and if they air the trials it's definitely worth a watch."
edit: oops I clicked on the instagram link first and thought the two pictures were from the same person. If it was a producer person who shared the course picture, then fantastic haha.

I hope they air the trials in some form. Inui sent me a message earlier in totally bablefish disaster saying something about Youtube.. so maybe something will be there? Only time will tell. Glad at least on the surface your experience was much more enjoyable than 28's debacle. So that alone is great news. I know you'll be shot if you say anything so hold that thought until something airs and you get a chance to talk about it at length at another time. So happy at least you had a chance!

Looks like the Yureru Hashi (Balance Bridge) is back! Is the trial course 1 stage or 4 stages? They need to save some ideas for Sasuke 29!

It's already been posted that it was a 2 step (interview and then that 1 stage) as consideration for Sasuke 29 and ASEAN Cup participation. We won't know who made it until they air it. I doubt they know yet as Inui's already mentioned that they have to made decisions based on this weekend. There's a lot of factors that will decide who makes it to Sasuke 29. And anyone who cares about their position in Sasuke 29 will not post about trials. TBS is hardcore about leaks. I wrote a blog with what we have so far. I doubt we'll get more information than what we have now.

Is it just me or does the Balance Bridge look tiny?

The twitter photo is from a guy who is involved in either building or designing the course (not sure which). He tweeted photos of the last course prior to airing.
Folcom (Inui's company) and TBS are going for a more controlled info direction rather than complete secrecy.

And very much agreed on how Inui and TBS are handling this. I prefer it this way honestly.
