I'm fascinated by all the different types of shoes people wear for the competiton. What kind of shoes is everyone using this year? Feiyues, Vibram FF, Five Ten shoes?

Yea. If/when I run i'll most likely get Jikatabi shoes and then tape them like you saw Takeda doing before stage two once or twice. I don't understand why someone like Jordan Jovechev unzipped his Tabi. I would be so paranoid it'd fall off.
If I can't get Tabi in time, I'd get good running shoes instead.

Feiyues as well. They're cheap, flexible and have great grip. They served me well in ANW4, and during all my training leading up to ANW5.

Feiyues as well. They're cheap, flexible and have great grip. They served me well in ANW4, and during all my training leading up to ANW5. I believe I need to look into a pair of those and hope a month is enough time to get used to them. My current shoes (New Balance 854's that I use for everything from work to running) have lasted forever, but they couldn't grip Shaun's spider walk for crap.

Amazon tends to have the best deal on them ($15-20), but other sites have more styles/options if you care about that stuff (high-top, low-top, different colors, solid colors, etc). They grip very well on plexiglass and I've never had trouble with them in wet conditions. They wear out fairly quickly (few months, depending on use), but all of my shoes do anyway. These actually lasted longer than most of my other shoes. Getting used to them isn't hard. They're very thin-soled and flexible. They don't have padding in them, but the rubber soles are molded a certain way so that it still offers a little bit of cushion. They protect your feet a little bit from jumps/falls, and are still sturdy/non-compressible enough to lift in (I do all my lifting in them). They're just really, really neat.
And if you don't like them, it was only $20. It's not like they're a huge investment or anything.
