Expect stuff from Stages 1, 2 and 3 (maybe Viking and Kunoichi too based on Venice), and 1 (or 2) world premiere obstacle(s) (Venice and Baltimore had one) What was from/based on a Kunoichi obstacle in Venice?

Seems like Obstacle 5 will be a "fusion" obstacle. Venice was Giant Swing + Chain See-saw, Baltimore was Swing Circle + Hang Move (maybe Rope Junction). I'll run some analytics to see what to expect in Miami.

Kunoichi started in 2001 about 4 years after the original Sasuke aired on TBS. The obstacle though you are referring to is not exactly the same thing. Close.. but not the same thing. Edit: sasukepedia.wikia.com/wiki/Pole_Bridge Is that what you were referring to?

Domino hill originally came from Takeshi's castle in the late 80's and then was redone as the Sponge Bridge for Unbeatable Banzuke. Maybe you saw it on one of those.

I would say you're right with Rope Junction being what's fused with the Swing Circle, even more so considering the chains were switched to ropes for competition. Wasn't anything like the Hang Move (which was an obstacle by itself in Venice), only similarity is it at one point had chains (which were tubed like the Vegas Metal Spin of last year)

Okay, I wasn't aware they changed to ropes during the competition. The chains were the only reason I said Hang Move.

They were changed to ropes by the time I got there friday evening, later on friday night the first rope was moved closer to the first ring, this change remained throughout the competition. Maybe... I can't say

About them altering obstacles (like the nun-chuck thing being switched out with the horizontal bar) because it's too hard. It's not fair to the other guys who ran before the switch while the others have this less difficult verson.

So, final calls are being made and they should be done by end of today.
If you are planning on trying to walk on, best of luck and I will root for you. However, I will definitely be sleeping in and just emjoying the show if I don't get a call again this year!

It's a full week out.. didn't they have last minute calls up to a few days before the event? Or am I mistaken on that?

The Nunchuck parts of the second swing were taken off just for regional finals, they remained like that in qualifying, the ropes on the Circle Cross were done before any competitors took to the course and remained that way the whole night (qualifying and regional finals). There's no unfairness going on

She also said gates open at 6pm sat for walk ons, which seems unrealistic. Either way, that's the official word, for what it's worth.

Those of us who did not complete the nunchuck swing and went on to the semi-finals no longer had to worry about that obstacle. Thus they had a better chance to get farther in the semi-final course, whereas those of us in the semi-finals who DID complete the nunchuck swing now had to worry about all the competitors who would have failed it.
For those of us who completed the nunchuck swing, we would have had a better chance to advance to Vegas if the nunchuck swing was never swapped out.

Oh true, never really considered it that way, I was thinking more it's fair since everyone on the course attempts the same obstacles, but that's a very good point

Actually you don't have to worry about anyone else but yourself. As long as you push the button you move on.
