The Stage 1 clear rate was terrible in Rising. They need to make it at least a little bit easier.

The stage was deceptively hard. Although the Spin Bridge was much harder than it needed to be.

Hey I loved the spin bridge because it was EXACTLY what it was supposed to do I think the problem for people is that it was too early in the course.. but whatever.. I hope it stays! I love it!

Something did feel off about the 28 Spin Bridge. Honestly I think 28's Spin Bridge was definitely the hardest incarnation of the obstacle... (Of all versions, Cannonball, 27's Spin Bridge, ANW4 Spin Bridge and it)
27 got the difficulty right it just had a fatal flaw... It was too late in the course... The only people getting there were the ones who could clear all the leg heavy obstacles before it (especially the redesigned landing HPA), granted it still was failed.
Ideally it should be the 27 version (which unfortunately is impossible due to M9's liquidation but oh well... shikata nai...) placed as the 5th obstacle, like instead of the Ni Ren Soritatsu Kabe it could be placed between the Jump Hang Kai and the Soritatsu Kabe...

Well we can talk about obstacles in another thread.. as usual ya'll go headstrong into that conversation Either way just waiting for more information on entries and how TBS will be doing the invites this year, if NBC is going to give a crap and what other country is going to enter 29. Oh.. and when it actually tapes.. So yeah plenty to discuss in the thread besides obstacles

If they've exempted past participants from having to re-qualify (which, by the way, is not the same as saying anyone from the past show is automatically in) they only need to reach the targeted number of 200 which wouldn't take more than two weeks to get.
Also, no women can apply this time around.

Yeah I read that about women.. I wonder... Also anyone under 18 needs a guardian so that's slightly changed.
I asked Inui point blank if Shin Sedai are in and he said yes. I'm curious how big the blanket is going to be. Maguro Festival is that same weekend and that's all the All-stars. Shingo's already said he's going to Kagoshima and not Midoriyama.. Makoto is contractually bound to show up at Kagoshima as well.. so we'll see if they get exempted and put in Sasuke 29.

If they decide to choose someone under 18 to go to Malaysia, their parents may need to sign off on it so better they know now than later.

Oh I didn't even think about that.. point taken. It's clear though they are gunning for ASEAN Cup with the set up they are doing now for Sasuke 29's trials. They have the mechanism still to invite who the hell they want which is good.. just curious how they are going to do it. I suspect that the trials are for weeding out the really strong ones to put them through so they have a good showing in ASEAN. Makes sense that they aren't bothering to put the girls up against the boys in trials. I expect some in 29 for the TBS broadcast. As for 29 itself.. we'll see who ends up going for those of us who are fans of the vets. That's all I'm really concerned with right now.

I don't see how they would necessarily be gunning for the ASEAN Cup since they can send whoever they want and it's clear that they already have a number of skilled competitors. I only see this as them going "We have a core, so let's build around it."
If they go sight unseen (literally - there is no video or picture submission this time around) for the people who participate in the trials (they could just take the first 200 to save time) they are not assuring themselves of quality. Most qualifying events depending on the style only bring in maybe ten people at most and not all of them will pan out. 13 doesn't count since they made the veterans run as well as new people.

And I didn't know they weren't allowing videos this time.. though I'm sure they have them cross referenced from last year's auditions. Curious if this year the trials will be a bit more robust. Inui did say Trials will only have 200 people so the invitation will be important to those repeat trials guys. I expect we'll find out soon who even gets the call back. Agreed with the core so build around it scenario. They know these guys now from last year's process so this is pretty much a formality by this point and of course any new guys. I see how at least ignoring the weak chicks they can concentrate on getting the good guys through to be further widdled down at Sasuke 29. We also don't know if this isn't just going to amount to another stupid exercise inside of the TBS studios again.. if there's a course then it's going to be different. It is interesting that they said Midoriyama though. Maybe they actually will have something built for them.

Considering the trials are at Midoriyama will they be in a format similar to 13, 21, 27, etc.?

Shingo posted on his Facebook earlier that he finished his application for the Sasuke qualifiers. So, apparently he will be doing the trials. Maybe he'll do that on the 27th, go to Kagoshima on the 28th, and participate in the Maguro Festival on the 29th?

Dunno but that won't help Nagano who's required to be at Kagoshima both days.. maybe Inui can let them pass with the others since he's already said there's a way to allow that to happen.

The qualifying for 13 made use of an older course and I'm sure that they would have used spare parts for the other qualifying events. However, I believe Inui stated that they had to redo everything from scratch for RISING since they did not have access to the old M9 stuff.

Per Inui, the no women thing is because the spot for the ASEAN Cup is for men only. SASUKE 29 will have female contestants (just not from the qualifiers - which, come to think of it, I don't recall any female contestants going through any of the trials apart from 13).
(note: he is replying to the female Olympic swimmer from SASUKE 28 - he also tells her to come so if she does appear, this will be the first time someone has actually been invited on to SASUKE in full view of the public)

If you are talking about SASUKE 29 in Japan, they are already accepting applications for a preliminary event to be held at the end of April and the deadline is April 19th.
