A few All-Stars will be back for 29, bank on it. Either Katsumi wants to come back with them or he doesn't care because he knows he can't pass after his staggeringly slow performance in 28.
I've been back & forth about this for a while now. Do you think he's done with Sasuke, permanently?

Well he was tearing down his (horribly maintained) course... Once he got up the wall he just seemed... happy, he seemed content that he defeated at least one of the Soritatsu Kabe... Like it was the closure he needed in his life.

Yeah there was some closure at the end of his run (especially when you consider how badly his friends performed). But what's crummy about it, is if the others are allowed another chance in 29, will that mean he wants another chance as well? That's what I'm so "back & forth" about.

All Yamada needs to do to pass Stage 1 is: 1 become more relaxed (like Nagano). 2 don't stare at each obstacle for 5-10 seconds wasting all your time.
unfortunately, 1.) is probably impossible for him.
They should just allow all the All-Stars in ANY tournament. who carez how good they are, people want to see them. From 100 people, 5 passed Stage 1 only, so you can't even say the All-Stars don't have it anymore.
Lets say, from 100 people, the company selects: 20 New-Stars + good athletes with a chance 20 celebrities and comedians 50 random people who did well at the trials then they always have at least 10 spots free for the Allstars.
We don't get to see all 100 competitors anyway. No reason to ban any of the good old boys.

If the other All-Stars return, I think Yamada will return, too. But maybe he'll change his mindset now. He's taken down his obstacles. If he does return, hopefully he won't be so obsessed. I think he'd have a much better chance of clearing the first stage if he would just relax. Compete just for the fun and camaraderie, like Shingo and Nagano do.

The MR. SASUKE DISGRACE
Just wanted to voice my distain about that shameful stunt that the Organizers did a few shows back - revoking the "Mr. Sasuke" title from Yamada and "giving" it to Nagano (who clearly didn't want anything to do with it!).
I think that action really showed that the Organizers are cold blooded, without any sense of decency, just into profit. "Mr. Sasuke" never was an official title in the first place. For whatever reason they gave Yamada that name, he BECAME Mr. Sasuke - without expiration date!!!
Also the whole bulls**t about "All Stars" , "New Stars" mainly created a stupid division between camps of competitors. Finally they thought they could just kick out the "All Stars" - WTF? You can't seriously think you can just dismiss the crowd favorites and replace them with new ones. Who the hell makes such decisions? If you want new crowd favorites, you need to CREATE THEM OVER TIME. It's a process. You can't bulls**t the viewers like that just because you want some new movie stars advertised or whatever your new favorites are...
seriously. these guys need to get a clue.
anyway, eagerly awaiting Sasuke 29... and hopefully a less cruel stage 1.

Yamada might have passed Stage 1 in 28 had he not gotten stuck on the Rolling Escargot. The only real challenge he'd have would be that 2nd Warped Wall, because of the stumble he had on the 1st. If he passed the second wall he would've had it.

The "organizers" didn't try to make Nagano "Mr. Sasuke." The announcer, Ogasawara, did that. He's the one who made the comment. The director/production crew had nothing to do with it.

Sadly, yes, it's true. That was BS that the announcer improvised, not knowing what it really meant. TBS knew what it meant though, as they focused on Yamada's face as the announcer was yelling crap like "Mr. Sasuke, Nagano Makotooo!"

Don't want to invalidate your argument or anything, but it wasn't "organizers" who took away Yamada's title... it was simply an off-handed comment by one of the announcers, the one a lot of us tend to hate. It's not like they actually stripped him of the title.

I don't know if he'd continue! It's too had to think about with his track record of retirments and all. As for all-stars in general the way i think of it is that if only 5 people pass and the all-stars clearly have what it takes and the fact people wanna see them than yes all should return. EVEN SHIRATORI!!!
